Janus didn't know where to go but the mind palace. Please god let them have mercy for me.
Janus slowly walked in through the door. He didn't wanna pop in just in case it was too surprising. But there weren't any sides around. So Janus waited by the door for someone to walk by. And one did. But it wasn't the one he wanted. It was Virgil. "What the hell Deceit! What are you doing here!?" He yelled. Janus flinched at the immediate hostility. He didn't like being yelled at. But that's all that's been happening. Maybe that's why he loved to be around Patton so much. No yelling. Just calm, sweet, and encouraging words. The other three walked to Virgil's side. He felt like a scared cat that was cornered by angry dogs. Logan looked down at him condescendingly. Roman didn't dare look at him.
But then Patton pushed through. "Jan? What are you doing here?" Patton asked. "HE TOLD YOU!?" Virgil yelled. Janus laughed a little. "Janus, you should really get back to Remus. It won't take long for these three to be at your throat." Patton suggested. Janus nodded. He had walked away from the door and looked at it. "Ah yes, to my home, where I live! With Remus." Janus smiled as he slowly inched to the door. He was taking the littlest steps possible. The other sides looked at him with confusion. "Can you go any faster?" Patton asked. "Yes! Indeed I can! To my beloved boyfriend! Who loves me! Who wouldn't kill me on sight! I shall leave now!" Janus didn't pick up the pace though. Logan rubbed his eyes. Virgil hissed and Roman looked just confused. Patton sighed and made a small hand movement. The door locked and Janus turned around. "What did you do?"
"Putting it simply, I decided to break up with him because I was accepted, he called me a hypocrite, threatened to hurt me, and now I have nowhere else to live." Janus smiled. "Well you can't live here." Virgil said. "I second that." Logan added. "Me too." Roman ran his fingers through his hair. Janus' eyes widened. "W-what?" Janus was shocked. Roman stood up sharply. "A room would of appeared if you were supposed to be here! But you're just a filthy dark side! Leave!" He demanded. Patton tried to calm him down. Janus also stood up. "Oh of course! It's not like I can go back to a man who will murder me and that if I step foot into the imagination I'll be attacked by who knows! I'll be fine!" Janus hissed. "Don't talk to him like that!" Virgil went for Janus. Patton grabbed his arms. Roman went to attack Janus. "Logan stop him!" Patton struggled to say. But Logan did nothing. Janus stopped. He didn't want to provoke anything. Even if that meant him getting hurt. "JUST STOP!"
They all stopped at Patton's yell. "He's staying." Patton ordered. "But he can't stay! He doesn't have a room!" Logan protested. Patton fixed his cat hoodie and looked at them all as he stood up straight. "He can stay in my room tonight before we figure out a plan. He's not leaving." Patton said. Virgil and Roman huffed. Logan just swiftly walked back to his room. "Janus, we'll figure this out. I promise." Patton put his hand on Janus' shoulder. Janus needed the warm touch. He felt so cold and lost. He dove and gave Patton an intimate hug. (Arms over shoulders kinda hug. That kind of intimate.) Patton looked shocked but smiled and hugged back.
As Patton set a spit for Janus to sleep, Janus went to Logan's room and knocked. "Come in." Logan answered. Janus slowly walked in. Logan looked up and groaned. "It's you." He muttered. Janus nodded. "I just want to ask, why? You shouldn't hate me but you do." Janus said. Logan sighed and stood up. He cane close to Janus. "Oh I dunno. Maybe because you impersonated me twice, the second time you knocked me out." Logan reminded. Janus realized. "Ohhh yeah. But you weren't getting through to them! I had to help!" Janus defended. "You didn't have to knock me out! Or impersonate me for that matter!" Logan shoved Janus out of the room and slammed the door. Janus sighed and took his hat off. He fixed his hair and trudged to Patton's room.
Janus heard Patton's sound sleeping. He looked up at the ceiling from the floor. Patton made a small makeshift bed. Janus couldn't sleep. He was freezing. Patton's room didn't have the heat lamps like Janus'. Janus needed the heat lamps because even though he's still half human, he's cold blooded. That's a maun reason he wore all those layers. He rubbed his eyes. He was also thinking. I fucked up real bad. Why did I say that to Roman? Why did I impersonate and knock out Logan? Why did I threaten Virgil? I'm such an asshole. But I already have an image painted in their brains so they can't see me as anything good. I only have Patton.
Patton's pov
Patton could hear Janus' shuffling and grumbling. "H-hey Jan? Do you wanna maybe-come up here? I know I don't have heat lamps like your room. You can just be on the other side." Patton suggested. He heard Janus stop. Then slowly rise up and crawl into Patton's bed. Patton stayed on the far left side while Janus stayed on the far right. They weren't dating so it was a little weird.
Janus' pov
It wasn't much but Janus felt so much warmer. He also felt calmer. Knowing Patton cared. He was considerate, sweet, cute-wait. No. Just wholesome looking. It made Janus smile. He ducked deeper into the comforter. Even though there were going to be so many challenges in the morning, Janus didn't worry. Right now, he was safe.
