"Heeey! Kohana, over here!"
"On it!" Kohana drove a crumpled paper through the ground with an angle broom. She knocked the paper ball into the air.
Natsumi then catches the ball with her knee, keeping it in the air as she kicked it with her knee soccer-style. She sent it flying into a nearby trash can with a kick.
"Yes~!" Natsumi and Kohana rejoiced in unison, high-fiving each other.
"That wasn't necessary..." Rie sweatdropped, smile crooked. Still, the pair continued to cheer, even uniting their angle brooms together.
"Oh come now, Rie-san." giggled an amused Fuji. "Let them have their fun. We need a little bit of that after everything we went through. Besides, don't pretend that you don't act over-the-top."
Rie stabbed her broom to the ground. "Bold of you to say, Fuji. Cleaning up the courtyard like it's a game is so uncool." She closed her eyes stubbornly. "Doing that would just cramp my style."
"Heads-up, Rie!" A much bulkier paper ball came flying.
Her eyes sharp, Rie twirled and wielded her broom as if it were her own weapon. She struck the paper into the nearest trash can before throwing her broom into the air happily.
"Perfection!" She exclaimed.
"What do you think?" Miharu looked at Fuji.
"Well, as they say... it takes one to know one." Fuji said smoothly.
Rie winces a little as her angle broom descends back down, hitting her head in the process. Picking it up swiftly, she approached Fuji.
"The heck's that supposed to mean?"
Fuji averted her sweetly closed eyes away, chuckling.
"Not that it matters." Miharu spun her broom with her hand. "We're almost done with our club service today, girls!"
Yuki looks up as she continued to brush her broom across the ground for any litter. "Already?"
"Oh, yeah, that reminds me," Yui stopped and glanced at Yuki. "Why are we cleaning up the school grounds again?"
"We're helping the school and making it a better place, of course!"
"You're what now?"
"That's what the magical girl club is about. We help the school out by doing deeds that would make for a better and happier environment for the students." Yuki smiled with enthusiasm. "We also try to prevent bad things from happening at the school, just like real magical girls!"
"Oh yeah? Like what?"
"Umm..." Yuki hummed and gazed up at the sky. It wasn't like they never tried to prevent such bad things. But it's certainly been a while since the last time a quarrel broke out amid a campus packed with students, or a bullying incident of some sort...
Even so, Ritsu Ē. Himuro Middle School was far from perfect, and the magical girl club wanted to make it right.
"Oh, so it's basically a goody-goody club?"
"Come on, Yui, you know that's not all there is to it! We actually enjoy helping out. And I'm sure you knew that the moment you decided to join, right?" She challenged her sister.
"Oh, really?" Yui teased with a smug grin. "Even though it's just a cover-up for your little Precure shena-"
Yui found her mouth muffled by a hand.
"Yuiii...!" Yuki scolded. "Remember what we told you, about our identities and everything..." Her voice hushed into a fierce whisper.
"Oh, right..." Yui's voice was muffled before Yuki let go of her. "Sorry about that... See, this is still just so much to take in, you know? It might be a while..."
