Haechan knitted his eyebrows, playing with the match on his hand. The dream he had last night- it still haunts him. It made him curious.
He puts the match back, shoving the both of his hands inside his pocket, walking towards the school gate. It's almost time to go home, he skipped most of the classes. When he arrived at his class, it's already time to go home. The math teacher is not present today, so they had a free class.
"Yah Lee Haechan, where have you been?" Renjun asks
The boy shrugged, taking his bag from his chair. "I'm off now."
As he made his way towards his car, he spotted one specific girl standing near the school gate. He looked closer, making sure that it's really her. He was debating whether he should talk to her or no, but his curiousity took the best of him, so he walked towards her.
"Hey there." He said
His tone seemed a bit off, making the girl frown. "What's with you? You're not as cocky as you were yesterday,"
Haechan shrugged. He took at a closer look at the girl, holding back the urge to ask her if she wanted a ride home.
"Oh yeah, do you mind if you give me a ride back? I don't think my brother will pick me up."
But oh well destiny, says otherwise. Instead of him asking her, it's her asking him.
He doubted for a while, but he shrugged those thoughts off. It's just a dream, it wouldn't harm anyone, right?
He smiled. "Sure, come on."
They both hopped into his car, as he began to drive her to her place. Throughout the whole ride he was unusually quiet, and it bothers Hyewon so much.
"Why are you so quiet? You're acting weird today. Are you sick or something?"
He plainly shook his head, eyes still focused on the road.
Hyewon raised one of her eyebrows, still not fully believing him.
"Are you- going anywhere with your brother today?" He asks hesitantly
Hyewon shook her head, signalling a no. "No, why?"
"Nothing, just asking."
After a few minutes, they finally arrived at her house. She unbuckled her seatbelt, grabbing her bag before turning around to look at him with a wide smile. "Thanks for the—"
"No wait! Don't go out just yet, I'll open the door for you." He said
Hyewon frowned at his unusual behavious but she shrugged it off. He hopped out from his car, opening the door for her. Hyewon gets out of the car, looking at him with a weird look.
"Seriously? What's wrong with you today?"
Haechan mentally face palmed himself for being such a freak. He looked around, it's still 3pm the sun is still shining brightly. Nothing looks suspicious, so it's all safe right?
"Nothing, see you tomorrow, I guess."
The girl smiled, walking towards the entrance of the building. He stared at her as she made her way to the entrance. But she then stopped, looking back at the guy.
"Wait I forgot to tell you that—"
She couldn't finish her sentence. A loud gunshot ringed in the air, making Haechan widen his eyes in shock as he saw her.
Her white uniform top soon turned into a bright red color. Haechan ran towards the girl, holding her fragile body in his hands. This scene- it seemed too familiar to him.
"H-Haechan." She called
"No wait, Hyewon no!"
Then she blacked out. Haechan pressed the both of his arms on her chest, trying to apply as much pressure as possible to stoop the bleeding. But it's not working.
He then felt his ears ringing, so her covered the both of his ears with his bloody palms.
"You failed, now preparing to go back again."
And then when he opened his eyes, he's back in his room. He turned his head towards the clock, it's 1.27am again.
He then realized that it's not just a dream, it's a sign. A sign that a time loop had just started.
