Haechan exited his car, walking back towards the base. He just got home from the cemetery, his heart still feeling a little bit heavy.
He was happy that Hyewon comforted him before. If it wasn't for her he would've gotten home drunk or killed some innocent people. He couldn't control his anger, especially if it's about his mother.
He didn't go back to the base today, he stayed at his house- with his father. As soon as he got home, he directly walked in not even bothering to turn to look at his father who's sitting in the couch, staring at him.
"Lee Donghyuck, where have you been?"
He stopped, rolling his eyes internally. He turned around, facing his father with a cold look on his face. "Since when do you care?"
His father looked at him with an annoyed look. He never really cared about Haechan, that's true. They're never in a good relationship especially after his mother died.
"Stop with the attitude."
"Sure, whatever."
Haechan was about to walk back to his room but what his father said to him made him stop. "You still can't move on from what happened to your mother do you? Don't be pathehic and weak like her."
Haechan clenched his fist, trying to keep his anger inside him. "What did you say?"
"I said what I said." His father shrugged
"Your wife died years ago, and you don't even care. You're the one that's pathethic."
His father coldly chuckled, standing up in front of his son. "She's not the only person that died on this particular day, keep that in mind."
His father walked back to his room, leaving him alone. Haechan took a deep breath, walking back to his room. He lied down on his bed, thinking about what his father just said to him.
He regretted everything. He was there, he witnessed his mother's death. He should've saved her. He's blaming himself for everything for the past few years.
But then he realized something- odd.
His father told him his mother is not the only person that died on this particular day. This was also Hyewon's mother death anniversary, which means her mother died on the same day as his mother.
He stood up, feeling so stupid for not realizing it sooner. He knew something was off about his mother's death, someone killed her for sure.
He was looking for the reason why this time loop starts, but the answer for it could be right in front of his face the whole time.
He stood up, immediately taking his phone as he dialed Renjun's number. He needed to make sure that if his theory is right, this could possibly be the answer he's looking for.
"What is it Lee Haechan it's literally 2am why are you calling me?"
"Is it possible if Hyewon's mother died on the same day as my mother because she was the one who killed her, could it be the reason this time loop started?"
Renjun hummed, trying to think of the answer. "It could be, but someone has to start the time loop. Wait hold on- Hyewon's mother died on the same day as your mother?"
Haechan remembered what Hyewon said. It's right that this is her mother's death anniversary, but she's still unsure if she's really dead or not- meaning there's a chance for her to be alive.
"What if, her mother is still alive? Could she possibly be the one who started this timeloop?"
Renjun gasps throuh the phone. "Wait you're right that does make sense! But why? There must be a reason."
Haechan stayed quiet, staring at his clock. He knew that Hyewon was always afraid of her mother, even until now. He just couldn't pin point the reason why, and where it all went wrong.
"I don't know, but one thing's for sure is that it must be about Hyewon."
But what does his father have to do with it?
