[L/N] and Sakiyama stayed in the bathroom until lunch began.

Sakiyama has stopped crying and they had both talked relatively normally for the whole time, hiding in cubicles whenever someone entered and then giggling when they left.

They emerged from the girls' toilets and peered around. The halls were flooded with students so the two volleyball players deemed it safe to leave.

"Sakiyama, why are you so modest about being the ace of our team?" [L/N] asked suddenly.
"What d'you mean? Of course I'm not modest." Sakiyama replied.
"Half of the school believes that I'm the ace, which makes no sense because I'm a setter!" the [H/C]-haired girl exclaimed.

"Shh! Shut up, someone might hear you!" the opposite hitter hushed her captain.
"That's my point." the captain herself folded her arms. "just admit it. The guys at Nekoma are super skeptical about it, too. I'm pretty sure Kenma knows I'm not an ace."

"I just don't want people to make a big deal of me or anything!" Sakiyama replied.
"Ego!" [L/N] teased. "do you see Iwaizumi getting bothered as much as Oikawa-san does?"

"But that doesn't count because Oikawa's devilishly good looking!" Sakiyama said, turning to glare at a first-year who was sat at an otherwise empty table in the cafeteria. They gave a panicked glance around and then scurried away. Sakiyama happily sat in his seat.

"Whatever. I'll keep your secret, but if anyone asks, I'm telling the truth." [L/N] puffed.

She perched down next to Sakiyama, eventually joined by Harukaze, Mikazuchi, Tsubasa and Kayama from Class 6.

The cafeteria was loud, like usual, with the additional sound of screaming and things being thrown.

"Kayama! Long time, no talk!" Tsubasa exclaimed.
"That's not how the saying goes." Harukaze said.
"Yes. It has been a long time, has it not, Tsubasa?" Kayama replied politely. "are you all still in the volleyball club?"

"Hell yeah!" Sakiyama grinned.
"Ah, Sakiyama. I heard the news. My condolences to you and your family." Kayama said.

Kayama had jet black hair that appeared more of a dark sort of blue and reached her mid-back, as well as honey-coloured eyes. She was taller than both Harukaze and Tsubasa yet shorter than Mikazuchi and Sakiyama, you guessed her to be about 5'6.

She was raised in quite a well-off family, living in a wealthy neighbourhood, though she had insisted on going to school here so she could stay with her friends. She was an avid player and listener of the piano.

Harukaze picked awkwardly at her egg fried rice.
"Haru-chan? what's up?" Tsubasa asked over a mouthful of suspiciously well made spicy pork curry.
"Nothing... it's just, it feels weird to act so normal when Sakki-chan is carrying such a burden." Harukaze sighed.

"Don't worry about me, Haru-chan!" Sakiyama said in a bright accentuation of voice. "seriously, don't! I know I can trust you guys if I need to talk or anything, just act like nothing's happened!"

An uncertain smile presented itself on Harukaze's face.
"Whatever you say, Sakki-chan." she replied. The girls all ate in silence for a few minutes before [L/N] spoke up.

"Tsubasa-chan, that food you have there looks delicious." she observed. "I didn't know you liked curry."
Tsubasa flushed in a bashful manner.
"Oh... it's a new thing." she replied.
"Well, who made that for you?" the [H/C]-haired girl replied.

"I made it myself." Tsubasa straightened up, her back straightening. Her face seemed to thin and [L/N] could tell she was lying from the way she bit her cheeks to stop herself from laughing.
