"Oya, [L/N]-san!"
You waved an arm above your head, breaking into a jog to meet Sakiyama, Mikazuchi, Harukaze and Tsubasa. Harukaze had brought her little sister, Harukaze Kazue, along with her. Sakiyama had also brought her older brother, Sakiyama Samuru, for supervision purposes.
Her brother was staying in Miyagi for a week before returning to his home in Argentina. He had moved there for a job opportunity which happened to be Argentine national volleyball team.
Samuru had been a third year at Aoba Johsai when you, Sakiyama and Mikazuchi had been first years. He was now a twenty-year-old man, a male carbon copy of his sister. They had the same blond-coloured hair, the same hazel, almost brown, eyes. Samuru was a wing spiker for the boy's team and the previous ace before he graduated.
He had taken Aoba Johsai to nationals in his first and second year, unfortunately the members of the team that you knew now hadn't been there to experience it.
"I want to go into the good ol' grocery store for some beans." Tsubasa chirped.
"But Samuru and I wanna go into the sports store!" Sakiyama whined."Harukaze-chan and I want to go get some new clothes." Mikazuchi stated.
"I wanna help Aka-chan!" Kazue added helpfully. That was her nickname for Tsubasa. Aka-chan was the short for Akari. Sakiyama was Hoshi-chan, Samuru was Samu-chan and Mikazuchi was Mika-chan."How about we split. I can go with Tsubasa and Kazue-chan to the grocery store." you said.
"Good idea, [L/N]-san." Sakiyama nodded. "c'mon, Samu! Let's get some new shoes!"Everyone went their separate ways and you walked alongside Tsubasa and Kazue. You eventually led them into a grocery store, where you bought an ice cream for Kazue, a couple bars of chocolate and, in fact, no beans.
"Gekisaka Ikari, your child is at register five." the store announcer set forth. You recognised the name from somewhere yet you couldn't place it. It seemed Tsubasa did too, as she started marching towards the cash registers.
At register five sat a very upset looking Nishinoya Yuu and a white-haired girl who you recalled too well. She had icy blue eyes and had three neon-coloured hair clips pinning back her fringe. She had a few matching bracelets on either of her wrists, the most noticeable being one which had bells on it like that of a dog collar.
"Gekisaka." Nishinoya cried. "how could you leave me?"
"You wandered off, it was your problem." the white-haired girl replied."Hey, [L/N]. Isn't she that wing spiker from Karasuno?" tsubasa whispered.
"That's where I know her." you grimaced. Gekisaka Ikari, Karasuno girls's number six, second-year, vice-captain and wing spiker. You had played against her and the rest of her team when you were in your second year at Aoba Johsai, and you vividly remembered winning the match, and the pride your captain had felt."[L/N]-chan!"
"Crap, we've been noticed." Tsubasa cursed.
"Aka-chan, that's a bad word." Kazue said.
"yeah, yeah. i know, kid." the libero sighed.
"You promised that you would stop saying bad words!" Kazue persisted.
"Hitler promised he wouldn't invade Czechoslovakia, Kazue-chan. Welcome to the real world."Nishinoya came bounding over.
"Fancy seeing you guys here!" he chirped energetically. Gekisaka followed him, arms folding. her bells jingled as she did so. "Ikari and I were just getting some ice pops!""It's Gekisaka to you." Gekisaka groaned.
"Okay! You know Ikari right?" Nishinoya grinned widely.
"Yeah. I beat her team when I was a second-year." you replied smirkingly."Woak! you're so cool, [Y/N]-chan." Kazue admired.
"I know." you replied. "anyway, Noya, what are you doing here?""Shopping, what does it look like?" the short boy proudly showed off a plastic bag filled with all sorts of unhealthy snacks.
"You're going to rot your teeth with all of that." you warned.
"Ah, sure. C'mon, Ikari, let's get away from these poopers." Nishinoya said.Gekisaka sighed exasperatedly before following Nishinoya out.
After succeeding in buying the goods you needed, the only problem now was that Tsubasa and Kazue had disappeared.
There was a tug on the back of your shirt and your swivelled around on the spot, frowning down at whom you had assumed to be Kazue—
But no. Instead, it was a young boy around her age, with dark, close-cropped hair and equally as dark eyes. He sniffled and rubbed at one of them.
"Oh. Erm, hello." you said. "what's wrong, kiddo?"
"I'm lost." he explained meekly. "my sitter left me outside of a shop and he didn't come back...""Hey, don't cry. It'll be alright, I'll help you find him. what's your name?" you said.
"Takeru." he sniffed.
"Well, Takeru-kun. Just take my hand and we'll look for your sitter together." you smiled gently, holding out your hand to him.His watery brown eyes lit up and he took your hand.
"I'm [Y/N], by the way." you spoke as you began to walk, shortening your steps slightly to match the takeru."You're so nice." he said, before gasping and digging in his pockets. He hurriedly opened a packet of sweets and pulled out a gummy ring. "please marry me, [Y/N]!"
You giggled and nodded.
"Okay." you played along. He put the gummy ring on your ring finger and you both carried on walking, talking about random things like why the sky is blue and the grass is green."I was doing volleyball before this." Takeru explained. "but I had to leave early because my uncle had some 'important' stuff to do."
He made air quotation marks around important."You do volleyball, Takeru-kun?" you asked. "me too! I'm a setter."
"I wanna be a wing spiker!" Takeru said enthusiastically. "maybe you could set for me! We could be the best married volleyball team ever!"You laughed and agreed, a wide smile plastering your face.
"So, what does your uncle look like?" you asked, remnants of laughter still crossing your lips.
"He has weird brown hair." takeru said simply. Your mind was assaulted with several different hairstyles, all stuck onto the same middle-aged man."Okay. That should narrow it down." you lied. "it's okay, my yome sense will sense him."
"There he is!" Takeru suddenly gasped, letting go of your hand and pushing through a crowd of people. You shoved after him, getting carried sideways from the current of bodies, making sure he didn't get nabbed by a total stranger."This is her, my new wife!" you heard Takeru announce proudly. You approached and patted his head before your brain computed that his uncle wasn't what you had imagined.
He was very much not a middle-aged man. In fact, he was a young adult male, with brown hair styled flawlessly and a pretty face with round, brown puppy eyes.
"Oikawa-san." you sighed.
