I'd been giving Aaron time to rest, as per doctors orders. I looked down at my phone, and my mother was calling me. Again.

"Hey Mom!" I said. "I'm still ok."

"Now you are," she said. "I'm still can't believe I left you. You almost died! Bethy boo, I can't handle it."
Which is why I wanted you to leave so you'd stop crying. Mom felt guilty over what happened. I had a feeling she'd be going into bathrooms with me for the next few months.

"How are our trouble twins," I asked. "What do they do now? "

Blake and Bryan had gotten into some sort of trouble at the camp they were volunteering at. I wasn't too suprised.

"It's a long story," Mom said. "But hey, I owe you twenty bucks."

"What bet did you lose now?"

Mom and I constantly bet on things so sometimes I lost track.

"Miranda and Bryan broke up."

I mentally fist pumped. I'd never liked my brother's girlfriend.

"How'd you know it was going to happen?" Mom asked, a bit annoyed. She never won our wagers.

"Mom, Miranda was manipulative. Why do you think he applied for UCLA? He did it for her. He wants to pursue music. Besides Miranda was so dramatic. He needs someone really chill."

"Well Blake got lost in the woods, and got in trouble for misconduct. "

"Misconduct? " I laughed. "Were there two boys or just one?"

"I'm not disclosing," Mom said. "And I kept my promise to be discreet about your incident. We've kept it from the media, and if you don't want your siblings knowing, I get it."

"I don't want them worrying, " I said.

"I miss you baby girl," Mom said, her voice teary eyed.

"Mom," I said. "It's ok. I'll see you tomorrow. "

"Beth, there's a problem, " she said. "I have to go to Paris for business. I was going to take Blake with me and stay there because she needs a break."

"Oh no," I said. "I'm going to miss you."

"Come with us," she said.

"What? "

"To Paris, " mom said. "It will be a girls trip. We can have so much fun. Please!"

"Oh mom," I said. "I can't leave dad all alone. He's going to be lost enough without you. And Aaron..."

"Aaron is paid through the summer even if he doesn't work, " mom said. "It's a new policy. If you almost die on the job, we will pay you in full."

"Ha," I said. "So he has no reason to stay on then?"

"Probably not," she said.

"I'm still going to be with dad," I said. "I'm sorry. Paris isn't my thing. But I love you for including me."

"Always, " my mom whispered.

"I'm going to go and check on Aaron, " I said.

"Ok," my mom said. "And you know, you can tell me anything Bethanny. Even if it's uncomfortable. "
I have a huge crush on my bodygaurd and used his near death experience to kiss him.

"Ok mom," I said. "Love you."

I hung up the phone and walked towards a vending machine. I heard a familiar voice arguing with the front desk, making me chuckle a bit.
