It's been 3 days since I yelled at Dom after the simulation. It is Sunday afternoon and I've been lying in bed rethinking everything.
Did I overdo it? Did I have the right to yell at Dominic about the Tiffany thing? It's not like we are together.
You want to be though.
He doesn't.
How do you know that?
He used me because he couldn't have Tiffany! I was just another one of his conquests.
Conquest? What is this? The Medieval Time?
My phone vibrates against the bedside table. I've had it shut off since I got back home from the training because Dom kept texting and calling me.
I only turned it on today to update Jinnie that I was okay. Reaching over I grab it wanting to just toss it across the room again after seeing the text that came in.
Arrogant Asshole: We need to talk
I changed his contact name after seeing him with Tiffany.
Me: No we don't
Arrogant Asshole: Open the door or I'll break it down
He's here?! I sit up at the sound of banging coming from the front door. Oh crap. I rush to the mirror checking my bad bed hair. I run a brush wincing at the knots that get pulled at, giving up I toss it up into a bun. The pounding on the door getting louder.
"Open up Amelia! I'm not leaving until we talk." He shouted. I opened the door and stopped my jaw from dropping. Damn, why does he have to look so good?
Keep it together Amelia!
"What are you doing here?" I insist.
"I want to know what the hell happened the other day at the training session. I don't even know what I did wrong! What was that Tiffany comment all about anyways?" He shouts pushing into my house pacing back and forth in the living room.
"You don't know what you did wrong?! Are you kidding me?" My blood began to boil in anger. "How about the fact that I thought we had something good going after that night we spent together and the next time I see you, you're all up on Tiffany. Am I just a joke to you?" I say hurt.
Dominic looked at me shocked and confused by my outburst. I sigh, "Look I didn't expect anything to happen between us. But damn... a warning would've been nice." I grumble.
"This is all because Tiffany attacked me in the hallway?" He asked bewildered.
"Attacked?"
"Yes! That crazy chick can't take a hint. That day she followed me from my locker all the way to class asking me to go over to her house to hook up. I kept telling her 'no', then right when I was going to go into class, she pushed me against the wall kissing me."
"But I saw your hands on her waist." I narrow my eyes.
"'Cause I pushed her away." He says slowly letting it sink in. Realization hit me.
Man, I'm an idiot.
Yeah you are.
Shut up.
"Look Amelia, I would never willingly hurt you, especially with someone like Tiffany." He scoffs. "I don't regret the other night with you. The only thing I do regret was not turning my phone off to avoid getting interrupted." He smirks. I look at the ground hiding my blush.
"But." He sighs.
"There's always a 'but'." I whisper.
"But I am not good for you. You deserve to be with someone who isn't as fucked up as I am. I don't want you to get caught up with me when my past comes back to bite me in the ass."
"You do realize I am part of your gang now, right? So whatever mess you get caught up in, I'll be in it regardless."
"You aren't a part of every mission though." He raises an eyebrow referring to the last few missions the guys have been on that didn't involve Jinnie and I.
"Look, the point is I don't want you to get hurt because I allowed you to do a test run to see if you can be a good baiter. In my defense I didn't think you girls would have pulled it off so well. That is why I've been avoiding going on missions that will have you girls involved."
"Dom! That's not fair! You saw what Jinnie and I could do. I can help." I plead.
"I know what you're capable of, but I don't want you involved with what's coming."
"What do you mean? What's coming?" I raise an eyebrow. Dom gestures towards the couch as he sits down. I take a seat looking at Dom noticing the stress on his face.
"You know how Enzo told you that we all have our own story on why we joined The Liberated?" I nod. "I think it's time you hear how I joined."
