3 weeks later.
As we gather around the dining room table it amazes me how far we've come. If you would have told me two months ago, I would be friends with the school's mystery bad boys, I'd have laughed in your face. If you would have told me I joined a gang, I probably would have peed.
A gentle hand on my shoulder has me look away from the loving scene. Jinnie offers me a warm smile before wrapping an arm around me and squeezing me into a side hug. She lets go and places the salad bowl she had in her other hand at the table.
Being bent over the table, Noah takes advantage and taps her butt lightly. She jumps in shock and turns to smack him on the shoulder, yet she couldn't hold the giggles in and gives him a small peck. They take their seats at the table across from Oliver and Elijah.
Those two have had their own forms of adventure. After that night at the party they decided to come clean to the rest. To say everyone else was shocked is an understatement, but they were all supportive, nonetheless.
The happy couple sit at the table; Oliver anxious to eat as he reaches for a roll while Elijah smacks his hand away. It is Thanksgiving and we decided to have our own as a group.
My parents are still away, so I was going to spend this one alone until Jinnie insisted this bright idea. Looking at the it's 7:00pm, we should get started soon before Oliver has a meltdown. All we are missing is-
He walks through the front door shaking tiny snowflakes from his hair and leather jacket. He places the bag from the liquor store that consists of red wine for the meal on the ground as he takes his jacket off and hangs it on the coat rack by the door. As he grabs the bag, he looks up locking eyes with me. My Dominic.
That night he was shot, the bullet wasn't near his heart, but it did go through and through, causing a large amount of blood loss. Once he was unconscious, Noah and the others appeared and helped me get him out of there to the safe house where a doctor was waiting.
I asked what was to be done about Sasha who remained unconscious on the floor, but they said not to worry about it.
Turns out Jinnie had her own mini plan in case this all blew up, she had called the police right before we went up to the room. While we were tied up the cops had raided the party and found other members of Mephisto handing out the Devil's Candy.
Once we ran back up the hill to a van waiting on the side of the house Jinnie ran up to a cop hysterically claiming her "friend" was at the bottom of the hill knocked out. The cops ran in the direction and we escaped.
Dominic got the proper care he needed just in time. The doctor said his recovery time would be about two months and he should wear an arm sling to relieve the pressure for at least a month. He barely lasted a week.
He hands the bottle of wine over to Noah and continues his strides towards me. Once in proximity he places his hands on my hips pulling me in. A gentle kiss is placed on my forehead. I smile up that man in front of me. How could I get so lucky?
"Hi." I whisper.
"Hey."
"How are you feeling?" My hand gently grazes the area of his wound. He rolls his eyes at the question.
"How many times are you going to ask me that? I'm fine Bambi, I promise. Now come on, let's eat."
"Yes, please let's eat!" Oliver shouts from the table. We laugh at his childish antics.
We gather around the table and enjoy the amazing dinner Jinnie and I put together. The guys share embarrassing stories about each other from the past. I've never felt more at home in my own house than I did right now. This was my family.
Dinner was over and Elijah and Jinnie cleared the table while Oliver set up the living room for game night. Just as I was about to take the ice cream out the freezer for dessert Dom signals me from across the room.
Eyeing him suspiciously I follow him as he leads me upstairs to my room. He stands in the middle of my room with both hands behind his back.
"What are you hiding?" I narrow my eyes at him. He rubs the back of his neck. He's nervous.
"I know it's not until next week, but I can't wait to give this to you." He extends the hand that was behind him and shoves a rectangular box in my hands. I look at him confused until it hits me, my birthday.
"You didn't have to get me a present."
"Just open it." He grins. Lifting the lid of the box I gasp at the beautiful necklace inside. It is a small gold locket hanging from a thin gold chain.
"Oh Dom, it's gorgeous." Dominic comes close and takes it out the box and waves his finger for me to spin around. I turn and move my hair to the side to help. Once the necklace was clasped, I turned and hugged him.
"Thank you." I say sincerely looking at him.
"I lo-um. You're welcome." He coughs out. He looks around the room ignoring eye contact.
"Dom?" He hums, looking at me once more. "I love you too." A grin stretches across his face as he grabs my face and kisses me.
