It's Monday, I haven't heard or seen Dom since he disappeared that morning after the sleepover. I wanted to talk to him about the baiter thing Eli mentioned. I wonder if Dom would feel the same way about me being one.
I'm standing next to Jinnie by her locker looking up and down the hallway hoping to catch a glimpse of Dominic.
"So, what are you going to say when you see him?" Jinnie asks, closing her locker.
"I don't know Jin. I mean what if Elijah was right? What if we could be good baiters?"
"I think I would make an amazing baiter." She tosses her hair over her shoulder and offers me flirty eyes. I giggle at her attempt to look sexy.
"I bet you would."
"Well when you do find him, use it against him."
"What do you mean?" I questioned.
"You want to be a baiter, right?" I nod my head. "Well, show him how good a baiter you can actually be." She winks before walking off.
Huh, be a baiter to become a baiter. Jinnie is a genius.
I make my way towards chemistry glancing around the hallway not looking where I'm going, I bumped into Tiffany, the "Queen Bee" of the school.
"Watch it dork." She snaps and for extra effect, slaps my books out my hands. She walks away giggling with her little minions that she calls friends. Sighing, I bend down to pick up the books and a few loose papers.
Everyone else is just walking over or just stepping on my things. I try to reach for my history textbook before someone kicks it further down the hall when a hand reaches for it first. Looking up to see that the hand belongs to Dominic.
"Why am I always picking your books off the floor?" He smirks.
"Blame that plastic wannabe barbie." I grumble, rolling my eyes. He furrows his brows in confusion. "Tiffany. Blame Tiffany" I clarify. He nods his head understanding. I look around and notice that the hallways are basically empty besides, three other students taking their time to get to class.
"Hey, Dom, I wanted to talk to you about something."
"Look if it's about the kiss-"
"No. Well it wasn't, but what about the kiss?" I asked nervously. Is he taking it back? Does he regret kissing me? My heart is racing, and my palms begin to sweat.
"I'm sorry for kissing you." My heart sank at the words. I guess my face reflected the same emotions because his eyes widened, and he shook his head. "No. No. No. I don't mean it like, 'I'm sorry for kissing you, I regret doing it.' It's more of 'I'm sorry for kissing you, I just couldn't help myself.'"
"Oh," I muttered looking down to hide my blush. He reaches for my chin to lift my head so I can look into his eyes.
"At first, I thought I was dreaming when I saw you next to me, but then when you bolted, I realized it was real and ran after you to see what was wrong. But then I saw you in those sexy pjs." He bites his lip, remembering the pink silk material. "I just couldn't help it. I had to touch you... kiss you." His other arm snakes around my waist pulling me in. Our lips grazed against each other.
How did I get here?
You want to be a baiter.
Baiter! Right!
Remember what Jinnie said, use it against him.
Okay Amelia. Tap into your inner sex goddess. You can do this.
"Dom.]," I purred. His grip on my waist tightens. I turn my head and glide my lips across his jaw towards his neck.
"Yes Bambi." He swallows hard.
"The other day, Elijah mentioned something very interesting." I trailed light kisses on this neck, feeling his pulse beat rapidly.
"What?" He lets out a shaky breath.
"He mentioned something about being baiter." I feel him tense at the words. Shit I'm losing him! I swipe my tongue from his collarbone up his neck, then nibble at his earlobe. A shudder runs through him. "He said I would be great for the job. What do you think?"
He groans, too focused on the pleasure I am giving him.
"Dominic." I moan quietly.
"Fuck." He whispers before I am pressed up against the lockers and his lips are on mine. The kiss is filled with lust and hunger as if he can't get enough. I was too into the kiss to notice the bell ring. Pulling back to get some air, Dom doesn't stop. He starts kissing on my neck.
"Dom." I said, as he hums back at me in response, "What do you think about me being a baiter?"
"Not happening Bambi," he mumbled.
"Why not?" A moan escaping my lips when he finds my sweet spot.
"This world that I am in, is not one you should be a part of."
"I'll go to the cops and tell them everything I know about you and the guys." I say, not sounding very convincing. Dom sighs and detaches his lips from the assault on my neck.
"I can prove to you that I can be useful. What's the worst that can happen?"
"You could die," he says in a serious tone.
"You'll be there though, right?"
I knew that could get him to reconsider his decision, hoping he would let me go through with it. I stare at him desiring for an answer as he looks at me for a moment as I knew he was conflicted on what he was going to say. He looks down both ends of the hallway before looking straight into my eyes.
"Alright then, you'll get a chance to prove it," he smirks, "tonight."
"Tonight?" I say stunned. He smiles at me as I look terrified not expecting it to be so soon. Why tonight of all nights? I try not to lose my cool as he waits to see how I react.
"Yeah. You want to be a part of it so bad. You'll prove it tonight."
"Can Jinnie be there?"
"Sure. Since you're both so eager."
