The next morning, I woke up tired since I barely slept last night, with the nightmares and all the kissing. Just the thought about the kiss had me happy as ever. I get out of bed and head downstairs to see Jinnie making coffee. Mhmm caffeine, yum.
I peek into the living room to see Oliver, Elijah, and Noah folding the blankets and pushing the furniture back into place.
"Hey Noah, where's Dominic?" I asked, noticing he isn't in the room.
"He slipped out earlier to handle something."
He left? Without saying goodbye? I must have looked upset by the news since Elijah came and patted my shoulder offering me a sad smile before putting the blankets back in the closet.
"I'm hungry!" Oliver whines.
"We can go to a diner." Jinnie shouts from the kitchen. The guys agreed, they headed out to go get some fresh clothes and shower before coming back to pick us up. Jinnie and I head to shower and change ourselves since the guys gave us an hour.
"Hey what happened last night? I could've sworn I heard someone scream last night." Jinnie said while applying light makeup. I'm brushing the tangles out of my hair.
"Eli may have caught Dom and I kissing in the bathroom." I whispered, blushing at the same time.
"What! Are you serious?" She squeals. A car horn is heard outside, signaling the guys were waiting for us.
"Do not say a word about this in front of them," I warn her.
We head out and give them directions to our favorite diner that's 15 minutes away. Dex's Diner looks run down from the outside, but on the inside, it is this cute mom and pop style diner run by this old adorable couple.
Jinnie and I lead the guys to our usual booth in the back. Oliver, Elijah, and I on one side and Noah and Jinnie on the other. Our waiter comes over and I notice it's Phil, our usual nerdy, nervous waiter.
"H-h-hi Jinnie. Hi A-Amelia. It's nice to see you again." Phil stutters while placing menus in front of all of us.
"Hey Phil, how's it going?" Jinnie asked sweetly.
"The usual. I'll give you guys some time." He walks away rubbing the back of his neck.
"I'm so hungry I can eat everything on the menu." Oliver groans. After a few minutes, Phil returns to take our order. Noah and I order an omelet while Elijah got a short stack of pancakes. Oliver gets Belgian waffles with a side of bacon.
"I'll have the house platter, scrambled eggs, pancakes, and sausages. Oh! Can I get a side of bacon too?" Jinnie orders.
"Uh.. the bacon will co-cost you extra." Phil informs. Jinnie looks at me with a sly smirk while I turn towards Phil.
"Oh, come on Phil," I say running a finger down his arm, "you wouldn't charge poor Jinnie here for extra bacon, would you? We're just very hungry."
"It's o-okay I won't charge it." He says before going to put in our order. Jinnie and I turn back to the table to find the guys giving me a weird look.
"What?" They mumble nothing.
Our food comes and we all enjoy munching on our meal. We have a bit of small talk reminiscing about the funny moments of last night's drinking game.
Jinnie sees Phil coming with the check and she faces the guys, "Watch this." Phil puts the check down and tells us to have a nice day. The guys and I put our money down for the food.
"Oh shoot! I forgot my wallet. What am I going to do?" Jinnie puts her head in her hands.
"It's okay Jinnie we can figure something out." I reassured her.
"Uh Ji-Jinnie."
"Yes?" Jinnie squeaks.
"Don't worry about your bi-bill. It's on the house."
"Are you sure?" He nods his head. "Gee thanks Phil you're the best." She stands and gives him a kiss on the cheek. We head out of the diner with the guys following us. Eli looks at us in shock and then looks towards the guys.
"Did you see that? They would be great baiters!" Eli shouted. Noah shoves him.
"Baiter? What's that?" I asked. Noah scowls at Eli then sighs.
He goes into explaining that with their gang job they usually have a baiter. A baiter is kind of like a seductress who basically distracts the leader of whichever gang that has crossed them or the rapist or whatever criminal you can think of. While they are distracted the gang usually makes the attack.
"We used to have a baiter until a few months ago when she set us up. We haven't been able to find another baiter in a while."
"And you think we could be baiters?" I look at Eli.
"Well duh! Just look at the way you tricked that waiter into giving you extra bacon and the free food!"
"Ooo! I want to be a baiter. It sounds like fun." Jinnie says intrigued.
"It's too dangerous. Especially if you haven't been in this world like the rest of us." Noah says.
"I know how to handle myself, thank you very much." Jinnie puts her hands on her hips.
"Still it's not safe and you are not going to be a baiter. Either of you. Now let us get you home."
