trivia on dinosaur train evolution: buddy was supposed to be feathered

As you know if you've read my dinosaur train evolution story you'd know that the story mostly follows buddy tyrannosaurus as he grows and develops with his family and freinds

Buddy has always been my favorite character in dinosaur train but apart from how he would act in the story the hardest part for me was finding out how he would look like

Back then i wanted buddy to look like
An appearance he dreamt of in the actual show but i didn't like it cause of the fact his head looked weird and had no blue stripes

My second thought was just use boris tyrannosaurus and call it a day but i wanted to be original with this and not design buddy like boris

Instead i used a body type a jurassic world t rex would use a bulky body muscular legs small arms a long tail sharper teeth but i kept the head the same as the original dinosaur train adult t rex head cause i didn't want buddy to look like a recolored jurassic world t rex

In the show i try to be accurate with the creatures in some areas like the pteranodons now have longer wings than before cause before they had bat like wings and keenan chirostenotes now has feathers all over his body but valerie is still the height of a jurassic world velociraptor and gilbert doesn't look like a real troodon

But i had one idea i will never forget

Buddy was supposed to be feathered

Buddy was supposed to have feathers on the top of his neck that run down his back and on his arms too

But i scrapped it since dinosaur train is mostly know through their scaly rexes and because i was more of a fan of the scaly version of t rex so i scrapped the feathers and left buddy like he is now and even then a day before i wrote the story i thought of giving buddy proto feathers but again i dont like that

At one point i almost gave him quills but now he looks different

He has a muscular bulky build and he has two blue streaks near his eyes a bunch of blue stripes on his body and blue stripes on his legs

I am really happy i didn't go with the feathers or the quills cause that would have meant i was supposed to draw a version of buddy with those features and i knew i never really liked feathers on a t rex so buddy is still scaly
