A Few Things to Note for Dinosaur Train Reignition

Since I already announced Dinosaur Train Reignition, I thought that for the 4th anniversary of Dinosaur Train Evolution, I should give you guys an idea on what to expect for the sequel to my first ever story.

The first thing to note is that it will take place not a few months or years after DTE, but immediately right after. In fact, the first chapter alone takes place two days after the ending of Dinosaur Train Evolution.

Another thing to note is that I will focus more on developing the characters since DTE, even though I cherish it a lot and I have it to thank for getting me where I am today, admittedly, the character interactions weren't the most natural in my opinion. At least up until the later chapters. Which is something I want to improve upon. Thanks to Indomitable and Jurassic World: Reign, I now have a better idea on how to do interactions and how to make dialogue sound more natural. 'Cause not gonna lie, some of DTE's dialogue is either overwritten or too dramatic.

Next thing I wanna talk about is the variety of topics that will be focused on in each chapter. I'm just gonna come outright and say it, DTR will be more contained than DTE was. DTE kinda had these random chapters like "Predator X Strikes" which, really, was made just because I liked the real life Predator X specimen but looking back on it now, that chapter really was just filler if I'm being honest. It didn't really move the plot forward. But that doesn't mean that I won't make chapters that aren't focused on Buddy and his team preparing or fighting against Alpha. It's just that they're not going to be as common as they used to.

Another thing I want to do is focus on the elements because in DTE, they were only really special when they were first introduced. Later on, they were kind of just a natural occurrence. This story aims to fill in gaps left by the previous story. Especially when it comes to the Fire element, and this story might finally address why Fire is a forbidden element and why only theropods seem to possess it.

The next thing I wanna talk about is the furthering of Shiny and Gilbert's relationship. DTE ended with the tease that Gilbert might ask her out for a date so it's possible that with the sequel, I might show more of them being together since in my opinion, they should've interacted more in DTE.

Another thing I wanna address is that Alpha and Phoenix won't be the only problems that Team Claw Stars will be dealing with in this story. I already mentioned in the summary that by awakening that primal flame that Buddy tapped into in the finale of DTE, he's attracted some unwanted attention from other creatures.

I'm just gonna say this right now so you'll know what to expect when it comes to Alpha. If you forgot, Alpha is Valkyrie's boss and is a Tyrannosaurus of immense power. However, I haven't shown off his abilities yet. And let's just say, he's gonna be a menace.

Also, following up from the last few chapters of DTE, DTR will focus quite a bit when it comes to the psychology of the characters and what goes on in their heads. This is especially the case with Valkyrie in this story because he's trying to become a better Pteranodon after he was redeemed at the end of DTE but sufficed to say, his past still haunts him.

Now, while Phoenix will still be in this story, let's just say he's not going to be doing much for the first few chapters after he got roasted (literally) during the final battle of DTE. He's still recovering from that fight and is in a state far worse than the one he put Don in when he burned his wing.

Also, it's possible that Laura the Giganotosaurus will join the main cast. She's one of my favorite characters from Dinosaur Train so it's no surprise I want her to be more involved since she was just a background character in DTE.

It's also possible that there will be some conflict between Gilbert and his alter ego, Winter. What do I mean by this? It could be that eventually, Winter is going to get jealous of Gilbert or fed up with the fact that he has to live in someone's head and will have to wait until he's called upon. Which might lead to him yearning to have a body of his own.

Also, there might be more flashbacks here. I'm not exactly sure which ones I can use apart from Alpha killing Valkyrie's mate, or Mr. and Mrs. Pteranodon's love life before they had kids.

Finally, the last thing I want to talk about is that while the main conflict in this story is between Team Claw Stars, Buddy's team, Vs. Alpha and Phoenix, let's just say there's going to be a third party.

What's a third party you may ask? Well, it has a lot of meanings, but in this story, this third party is going to be in between the conflict. This character is going to be set up almost immediately so that you'll get a feel on what they are about. Along with that, there's a major plot twist related to this character that I've been planning for quite a while now.

So, yeah, that's basically it. I didn't want to spoil too much so I left a lot of stuff out, obviously. As for how I think this story is going to go. Personally, I think it might top the original. I know that people often say that the original story or the first in the series is the best, but that's not always true. Ripper's Journey II was far superior compared to the original Ripper's Journey. I have no doubt this will be far better than the original, but that's not to say that DTE is devoid of merits. It's just that there is a lot that can be improved upon.

I hope you enjoyed this. I know this is a shorter chapter but I just wanted to get the basic stuff out of the way first so that the more interesting plot points don't get revealed immediately.

For me, I've already been through this kind of thing. It's something I've gotten used to as time went on.

This place, this prison, it won't keep me in forever. I won't starve here. I'm just biding my time. I'm just waiting for an opportunity to present itself. They'll get what's coming to them, and I'll get exactly what I want. There's no question about it.

And you may ask, "Aren't you taking things too far? What if you fail? What if you don't make it out alive?". Well, here's the thing...

I've fallen before. At this point, I've conquered death. I laugh in the face of it and spit on it at any chance I get.

I'm no Alpha. But I don't need to be. Soon, they'll all burn.
