Chapter 41: Stress

~Kai's P.O.V~

The day ended and we're now heading back home. We all bid goodbye and me and Terry went back to the castle. As we stepped inside, I saw my father sitting on his throne. He called me and said he wants to have a talk.

"Son, may I talk to you? Without your royal guard." -King

"Yes father. Terry, you may wait me at my room."

"Yes your highness." -Terry

"What is it you wanna talk about?"

"About your future wedding." -King

'Ugh! Not again!'

Here we are again... I was distracted by having fun with Yuna, that I forgot about my problem with my future wedding. I hope princess Judy is also doing something to stop this.

"What's up with that?"

"I have a feeling you and that princess Judy are not getting along much. Maybe you should hangout with her more rather than with your personal servant and royal guard..." -King

"But father, me and princess Judy are friends. Isn't that enough? Besides, *mumble* I don't like her."

"What did you say?" -King

"Nothing."

"Look son, she's your future wife. You should be more than friends. Make her fall in-love with your charms." -King

"But father-"

"Son, do this for me pls. You wanna be the future ruler of Asterin right? Then this is the way." -King

*Sigh*"I'll try."

"Thank you son-" *cough* -King

"Father? Father are you alright??"

"Yes I am, don't worry about me. Worry on your future wedding." -King

"I understand. I'm going back to my room now."

I left my father still sitting on his thrown. While going upstairs, I saw Terry listening to our converstaion. I'm not really angry from what he did actually. I even wanted him to hear what my father said. I mean, he's the one who really likes Judy. We went inside my room and talked about what happened earlier. It gave me stress.

"About the future wedding again?" -Terry

"Yes. Tbh, I'm sick and tired of it! I really wanna rebel but I don't have the guts right now."

"Don't do it yet. Save it for next time." -Terry

"Idk what to do anymore. Even princess Judy doesn't know how to convince her parents to cancel the wedding."

"Just like what Ryujin said, this relationship is complicated." -Terry

"I'm sorry who's Ryujin again?"

"Joanne." -Terry

"Oh right."

*Knock* *knock* -Lucy

"Come in!"

*Creak*"Kai? I heard what happened." -Lucy

"Oh Lucy thank goodness you're here."

"Yeah, Kai is stressed out." -Terry

"About the wedding?" -Lucy

"Yeah. Lucy, is there anything I can do to cancel the wedding?"

"I'm not sure. But if you have the guts, you can just not show up on your wedding day or tell your parents that you don't like princess Judy even if they'll get mad at you." -Lucy

"That's the thing, I don't want them to get mad at me. But I also don't wanna get married."

There are only two ways for this problem. Tell my parents that I'm not going to marry princess Judy and stop the wedding or the wedding will still continue but neither of us will show up. What am I gonna do?

"Lucy, can we tell you a secret?" -Terry

"Sure. What is it?" -Lucy

"Kai likes that Yuna girl and me and princess Judy are the ones who like each other." -Terry

"You... What?!" -Lucy

"Shh!" -Terry

"Sorry. What's going on? How did this happen??" -Lucy

"We're just kids Lucy. We fall in-love."

"Poor boys. I'm sorry, Idk how to help you." -Lucy

"It's alright Lucy. It's not your love life anyways."

"But I did experience this forbidden love though." -Lucy

"Really?! How???" -Terry

"There's this guy that I liked when I left. But I have to go back home to be a servant here in the castle so we never end up being together. And I don't really remember his face." -Lucy

"I'm sorry for that Lucy."

"It's alright. I hope he's fine wherever he is." -Lucy

The three of us talked some random stuff but at the same time, we were thinking of ways to cancel that future wedding. It stressed me out the whole night. It's like, I wanna run away.
