Chapter 49: Lights

~Third Person's P.O.V~

Kai and Yuna are still at Han River sitting at a picnic mat while looking above them. Yuna decided to listen to music with her earphone and shared the other piece with Kai.

"Wanna listen to Earth music?" -Yuna

"Sure! What's the name of the song?" -Kai

"We'll Be The Stars by Sabrina Carpenter." -Yuna

"Stars? Cool!" -Kai

*Chuckle* -Yuna

While the two were listening to the song, Kai noticed around him that people there have lanterns on their hands. This was something he's familiar with since they also make lanterns back at Asterin.

"Yuna, is there a light festival? People have lanterns." -Kai

"Oh you know that? Maybe there is, let's get one." -Yuna

"Alright!" -Kai

The two are still listening to the song while looking for a store that sells 'ready made' lanterns. Yuna saw one and they immediately bought two lanterns. They wrote their names and a simple note on it. Before lighting up the lantern, they showed each other what they wrote.

Kai was chuckling from what he's writing. It's kinda cheesy to him but that's how he really feels towards Yuna. When Yuna came to his life, his fear turned to hope and now he knows why he needs to keep on living. Well of course Ryujin is also important since she's just like them, but only as a friend to Kai. On the other hand, Yuna think that Kai was acting weird. But she just went with the flow and chuckled with him for no reason. Happiness is a virus that can be easily spread.

This is what Yuna wrote on her lantern. She was trying to hide what she wrote but Kai would try to peek behind her. Good thing she managed to hide it from him until she was done writing. They finally showed their notes to each other when a voice from the distance can be heard.

"People! Are you ready to light up those lanterns???" -Unknown

"Yes!!!" -Crowd

"Let's all light it up now and get ready to see them float in the sky!" -Unknown

"You ready?" -Yuna

"Yup! I'll always remember this moment, and also the notes." -Kai

*Chuckle* -Yuna

The two lit up the lanterns and released it. The view of stars in the night sky became even better because of the lanterns. Everyone including the two were mesmerized by it. Kai thought of an idea. He controlled some lanterns secretly and formed again, a star, just like the rocks from the forest. Only Yuna noticed this from her view.

"It's so beautiful..." -Yuna

"Maybe this is the perfect time to take a picture?" -Kai

*Chuckle*"I think you're getting the hang of it." -Yuna

Yuna took a picture of the floating lanterns. When she put back her phone in her bag, Kai held her hands and Yuna flinched a bit but let him do whatever he wants. After the fun night at Han River, it's time to go back home. They decided to walk instead of taking the subway or bus or taxi. Impressing Kai with the lanterns wasn't enough. Just by the city lights glowing under him, he was left speechless again.

"Why is your mouth open?" -Yuna

"The lights here in the city are wonderful." -Kai

"Huh? But the city lights are just like the ones back in the town of Asterin..." -Yuna

"Yeah but they're old fashioned. City lights are better." -Kai

*Chuckle* -Yuna

Everything was looking nice around them. But down below, they haven't noticed that they're still holding hands. They just found out when they arrived home. Good thing Yuna's step-parents were working overtime. Everything was magical that night, but it won't last forever...
