After I took a much needed shower, I crashed onto my bed. I felt like I could sleep for days following that event. I must've dozed off because I woke up to knocking on my door. I turned to see that it was 7:30pm. What now? I got up off my bed and opened the door to see Nicola smiling at me. Her smile was infectious, so I found myself instinctively smiling back.
"Hey. We're having dinner. Care to join? I know you must be hungry, so I'm not taking no for an answer." She grabbed my hand and led me to the dining room. I entered to see everyone already there. Once they saw me, Jason and Mason dug into the food. I was so exhausted that Nicola had to dish out the serving of sea bass and vegetables for me. I lazily ate it since my body was screaming at me to go to bed.
"How was your trip?" Mason asked me. I didn't bother to look up at him when I answered.
"Great." I sarcastically answered. "If meeting killer mermaids constitutes as great. Pierce and Alec brought me on a suicide mission without giving me all the details and I found myself face to face with a murderous sea creature. I hate mermaids." I ranted. When I didn't hear anything, I looked up to see everyone staring at me stunned. "What?" I looked at them. I then snapped my attention to the left when I heard sniffling. I must've been so tired that I didn't notice a girl sitting next to Mason. She quickly stood up and ran out the room with Mason in tow. "What happened?" I asked again.
"Way to go speciesist. You just hurt Xamira's feelings. She's a mermaid, dipshit!" Pierce shouted at me.
"And she's Mason's girlfriend." Alec added. "I advise that you apologize to both of them later. As of now, we need to run an errand."
"What?"
"You aren't in the position to refuse anything at the moment." Pierce stated. I sighed and ate the rest of my food.

"Where are we?" I asked Alec. We were inside of a nightclub. That I knew. As of the reason why we were here... no surprise that they didn't tell me. Alec led Pierce and I through the sweaty bodies grinding against each other. Eww! Eww! Eww! Who parties on a Wednesday night? Only in LA I guess. We climbed up some stairs and the bouncer allowed us to enter the VIP section. I will be honest. I never took Alec for a partying type of guy. Madison, yes. But Alec, no. We entered to find a man and woman cuddling on the couch. I recognized them instantly.
"Hailey? Justin?" The couple turned and smiled at us. They immediately got up and greeted us with hugs. Justin escorted us to the couch and poured us some drinks. Alec got a glass of bourbon, Pierce got whiskey, and I got a fruity cocktail. I'm not gonna complain since the cocktail was rather tasty.
"Are you enjoying the summer here?" Hailey asked me.
"Yeah. I needed a break from school life in general."
"And how are you enjoying living with your brother?" She teased me.
"Well, its had its ups and downs."
