Early in the morning, Pierce received a text that explained everything. Since Pierce had placed a protection spell on them, no one could properly track them. People were able to narrow down where they were settled, but no one could actually pinpoint their exact location. That was until two weeks ago when Vera's, I've come to know her name, school was attacked. On a side note, just found out she's Pierce's daughter and Solar is his ex-girlfriend. I totally understand why she'd break up with him. Back to the important stuff, Vera had been skipping school that day and didn't get caught in that crossfire. Solar found her daughter weeding it out and drinking Soju with her friends. Normally, she'd berate her for doing that, but she was grateful that she decided to engage in her bad habits that day. She took Vera to Busan under the guise of being unnerved about the attack on Vera's school. Vera tried to assuage her mother's concern, so Solar reluctantly agreed about returning back to Seoul soon. Oh and Vera is half kitsune, half witch. But she doesn't know about it which has caused many arguments between Pierce and Solar. This is probably the one and only time that I agree with Pierce. So who's after Vera? Well, a lot of different people. Pierce has bad blood with the yakuza and triad and Solar has issues with the onis and nogitsunes. What they are assuming is that the yakuzas hired the onis and the triads hired the nogitsunes.

Pierce decided to take on the triads first which meant that we were traveling to China. More specifically, Beijing. We arrived in Beijing around lunchtime. Alec bought us something to eat. He said the name, but I couldn't tell you what he said if I had a gun to my head. Whatever it was, it tasted amazing. We left the restaurant and headed to the Great Wall. I have no idea why we were going there, but I wasn't gonna complain since it meant sightseeing.

Well... maybe I should've complained since the wall is like never ending. We were walking for over 3 hours and my legs were threatening to fall off.

"How much longer?" I groaned out.

"Just a bit. That's why I fed you earlier." Alec answered over his shoulder.

"And I'm hungry once again."

"In there." Pierce directed us. We entered under an arch only to see more steps. I groaned out loud making the two boys glare at me.

"What are we even looking for?" I asked as I crawled up the steps.

"A Nemeton box. When you kill a nogitsune, it returns to the world as a firefly. You can either kill the firefly or trap it in the box. If not, then it'll fly away and find a new host." Pierce answered.

"So... what is a nogitsune?"

"Trickster fox spirit. It creates chaos to feed on it. I'll put it plainly, it's a dark kitsune. A kitsune is a fox in case you were lagging behind."

"So how are we going to defeat it?" I pondered.

"You and Alec are gonna try and bite it. Change the host essentially. I have a sword that I can enchant with foxfire to kill it. Now, can we continue on without your excessive questions?!" My God! Was he always such an ass or did something happen to him that turned him into an ass? We walked for another hour before we came to our destination. And when I say destination, I mean a tower that had crumbled down. We were practically standing in a ruin. Pierce and Alec began to search around for this "magical" box. I decided that I was gonna take a rest since Pierce was such an asshole. I rested my arms against a part of the wall that reached a little higher than my midsection. I gazed over and admired the greenery below. Yeah, it was a hell of a walk, but the view was incredible. I heard the crunching of branches so I looked closer into the forest, but couldn't see anything. Then, I heard a thud, so I was really squinting at this point. A whirring noise resounded, so I looked closer and saw a glimpse of a-
