Hunith looked out over the desert snow lands "Are you sure you can do this?" She asked her daughter.

They had walked from the border of Mercia and towards the Tower of the Fisher King, Merlyn knew the only way to stop the curse and bring life back to the lands was if she met with the cursed man and saved him. But it was disturbing that the Fisher King had been cursed to live even when he turned into a decaying man.

"Yes mother" Merlyn sighed "I can do it" She wished her mother would have faith in her daughter's abilities.

Only a month had passed since they crossed the border and Merlyn could finally see the Tower in sight. It was tall and dark in the cloudy day as snow fell from the heavens creating a white blanket that covered the ground. The druids had built a camp not far from the Tower while Amos, Eva, and Aelyrion stood next to their Queen, Will had stayed back at the camp at the request of Eva, and Rogue was standing beside Hunith.

"The tower is guarded by dragon-like creatures named Wyverns" Aelyrion told them "Even the dragon lords had trouble controlling them"

"Well Fuck" Amos cursed "How the hell are we getting in then?"

"You won't," Merlyn said looking out at the tower "I'm going in alone"

"Like hell you are!" Amos shouted

"For once dear, I agree with Amos," Hunith said and Eva nodded in agreement

"This isn't up for discussion," Merlyn said sternly "I must go in alone; I have words for the Fisher King and I will not lose any of you"

Her new advisors grumbled at her words "I will go in tomorrow at first light" Merlyn decided before she turned and went to her tent for the night.

The next morning Merlyn was dressed and ready for a fight, ready to do what she came to this land to do, save people.

"Are you sure you wish to go in alone?" Aelyrion asked, he was worried about the wyverns more than anything, they were known as fierce protectors of land and objects they considered theirs and that was what the Tower was to them.

"Positive" Merlyn nodded before she began her walk to the Tower of the King. Merlyn hesitated at the door; she knew once she opened them that the wyverns would feel threatened. She took a breath and pushed on the two stone doors opening them just enough for her to slip inside. She could see the wyverns swooping downwards from above, they did not like trespassers.

Merlyn called to her magic for help as the two dragon-like creatures clawed at her. Suddenly a blue burst of light from inside her knocked the wyverns down onto the ground and they fell unconscious. That might have been the quickest battle she had ever fought. Merlyn shrugged and made her way up the stone staircase looking for the throne room.

She looked down each corridor until she finally found it, the throne room was smaller than she thought but then again it wasn't Hogwarts. But she saw what she came for. Sitting in the dusty old throne was the decaying man that was once named King, he held tightly onto his trident that made Merlyn think of her godly parent. The only thing that made Merlyn sure he was still alive was his eyes, they glowed with life and with pain.
