NO CLASS AT ALL

"Wait for me, Love."
The whole day is very relaxing. We did a lot of activities. But, it didn't have something to do with swimming. We just roamed around the resort and did some paragliding. For dinner, we travel for a couple of minutes and ate at Sarangani Highlands Garden, a famous place located on a hilltop. From there, you can have an awesome view of the sea and the city especially at night. You can see the city lights emitting from Downtown General Santos City.
"Kuya Doji, is this fine?" I asked Kuya Doji.
I am wearing a simple white dress. Edson invited me for dinner. Apparently, he mentioned about me in his family and his father invited me to come over.
"Okay na, Audrey. You're beautiful already. They'll like you for sure," Kuya replied.
"But... what if they don't?" I can't hide the nervousness in my voice. If this is a normal dinner, I wouldn't bother wearing a formal dress and I'll just wear my jeans and shirt. But, it isn't. I'm about to meet Edson's family.
It's crazy!
"Whoa! Are you the Audrey I know? The one who doesn't care about what others would say?" natatawang tanong ni Kuya.
"Well, they are Edson's family. I want them to like me."
"They will. And if they don't, then it's their loss," ginulo niya ang buhok ko.
We heard a car arriving from the outside.
"Nandito na si Edson. I'm sure, he'll be there to protect you, okay?"
"Akala ko baa yaw mo sa kanya?"
"Basta, Audrey."
"Bakit nga, Kuya?" I urged him.
"Secret." Kinurot niya rin ang ilong ko. "Edson, take care of my sister. Bring him home safe."
Edson nodded. "I will, Kuya." He turned to me.
"Come on, L-o-, Mory." He faked a cough before saying my name. Takot naman pala kay Kuya pa rin. Sipsip talaga.I rolled my eyes.
While travelling, I am mentally practicing my introduction. It shouldn't be too showy or too timid.
"Hey, are you nervous?"
"Of course, I am. It's your family, you dumb!" iritado kong sabi sa kanya. Bakit kasi biglaan? Kainis naman.
"Relax. They won't bite you," he said while holding my thighs.
"Your hand," saway ko.
The long dreadful drive ended. We've reached their house. I am amazed. Their house has an intricate touch of Spanish Archictecture basing from the fountain at the front of their main door. It's supposed to be called a mansion and not a house.
A mansion in the middle of the city. It has two grand staircases and in the middle is their family painting. A very beautiful woman beside a man who screams respect and dignity. I've seen the both of them in Rax's birthday.
"Love, come here. Mom and are up-stairs, we'll just wait for them."
I don't even know the flowers' names. One thing for sure, they're not ordinary. The landscaping's very organized too.
"Mom loves gardening and flowers. That explains all of these," sabi ni Edson sabay turo sa mga bulaklak.
"Wait here. I'll just get you a glass of water."
Before, I could even say that it's fine, Edson already vanished from my sight. I turned my head again on the flowers. Its calmness reminds of our destination last time. The serene and calm see and the superb view that night.
"Look who's here." A voice from the door echoed. "The holy friend."
It's Nickee. Why is she here?
I admit she's also good-looking. She's wearing a black formal dress hugging her body accompanied with her shiny jewelries that I'm sure is expensive.
"Akala mo talaga kaibigan lang turing kay Edson pero 'yun pala, may hidden agenda," she harshly spitted.
"Ano'ng sinasabi mo?"
"Ikaw!" sabay turo sa'kin. "Ikaw at ang kakatihan mo," natatawang niyang sabi. "You act like you're just his friend and you have no intention of being his girlfriend but the truth is, you're not."
"I don't know what you're talking about," I dismissively retorded.
"You don't, right? Because you always act like that. Pero ang totoo, Makati ka at malandi. Maybe, you got that from your mother!"
"Don't drag my mother's name in your useless speech." Wala pwedeng gumawa nun. My kind and caring mother doesn't deserve to be talked about like that.
"Why? Because it's true, right. Your mother is a slut like you, right?"
That's when I lost my patience. Not my mother!
I slapped her. A slap that she deserves.
"How dare you?!" Tinulak niya ako. But I gave an equal force, as a result, she went towards the bed of flowers.
"What is happening?! Oh my God!" A woman who looks like the woman in the painting appeared.
"Nickee. Hija, are you okay?"
"Tita..." Then, Nickee cried like a helpless kitten.
Hindi makapaniwalang tiningnan ko siya.
"Who did this to you, hija?"
"Her po, Tita," sabay turo sa'kin.
I quickly answered. "Ginawa ko lang yun dahil nauna ka."
Mas lalong lumakas 'yong iyak ni Nickee.
"Bakit ka umiiyak na parang – "
Naputol ang sasabihin ko nang nagsalita ang ina ni Edson.
"Enough. You have no class at all," she spat at me.
"Come here, hija. Let's tend your wounds."
Then, they turned their backs at me.
While, I just stayed there. Unable to move.
