Chapter 11

The room is filled with silence. I was looking to Mina's family members alternately. I was waiting for their response.

I thought I prepared myself enough but my heart is racing so fast that my breath couldn't catch up. I was startled when Mina's Dad stood up. Her mother tapped the latter's shoulders and nodded.

What's happening? It looked like they anticipated this scenario. Mrs. Myoui is the first one to speak.

"I'm sorry if we took measures on our own."

Huh?

"We know about you and Mina. We just recently knew honestly." She looked at her husband then back at me."This whole six months of waiting for Mina to wake up, you were always by her side. You didn't leave her." I gulped.

She paused. "I know about how you love each other, but for now, I just can't seem to accept you as part of my daughters life."

I was rendered speechless. I was so eager to start our happy memories together that I forgot how her parents felt. I was again selfish.

I tried to suppress my tears. I understand their point. But I can't help myself to ask. "Is it because we're both woman?"

"No." It was her father who answered. "We can accept whoever my daughter falls in love with. We are not that laid-back young lady. What my wife is trying to say is that, you, partly caused this to our precious daughter. We can't just accept you just because you asked."

I bowed my head. Tears falling freely. I understand. I know.

"I'm sorry." Her mother added.

I kneeled down. "I am so sorry for causing this to Mina." I said, still head bowed down. "I now understand your feelings. I'm sorry that I didn't even thought about how you felt. I really am sorry." I sobbed.

"I wish I could exchange places with Mina. I just wish. If only I listened to her, if only I didn't doubt her feelings. Then she shouldn't have faced that danger for me."

I let myself cry for a minute. "I will accept your decision. But can I ask something?" I looked at them. "What should I do to make you accept me?"

"Hey, you alright?"

I looked at Tzuyu when she tapped my shoulders. "Oh, did you just come in?" I asked.

She chuckled."I already passed earlier. Look." She showed me her apron. "I even got this already." I tied her apron for her.

"Still thinking about her?" She asked.

I sighed. "Yeah. Did you visit her before coming here?"

She nodded. "She's still asking for you. When do you plan to see her? It's been 5 years Chae."

"Until I deemed myself worthy." I answered.

*Tingling tingling

"I'll take that." She said when a customer went in.

It's been 5 years huh? Time flies so fast.

Due to Mina's condition, our group disbanded that same year and we all went our separate ways. Tzuyu is still an FBI agent but she just do paper works now. She decided to left the field 3 years ago when the person she was assigned to got killed. She was so devastated she just vanished for 7 months.

When she returned she offered to help me in my cafe whenever she's free. Well, more like she just bothers me when she's bored.

Dahyun went back to studies. She got herself enrolled in a well-known university. And she's about to graduate next year. Sana and Momo decided to build a dance studio. They're business partners.
