Chapter 5.

By ten o'clock, we had all found our way around the school. It was massive and surprisingly, not all in one block. The girl's dorms were on the other side of the boy's dorms and to get in, you had to scan your student ID card. The teachers that I met told me that there were video cameras in front of the entrance to make sure that nothing overrated happened there.

When I finally met the principle, it was noon and he was exactly what I expected him to look like- grey mop hair, a grey moustache, big thick eyebrows and a lanky body with a big beer belly sticking out.

"I have heard that you four have found your way around the school and have met all your teachers so far. They have all said that you are well behaved and have adjusted just right in the classroom environment.

"Well, my name, as you already know, is Daniel Gray, and I am the principle of this school and the one across the road, Green Day Academy, or, GDA as the kids here like to call it. Let's just say that the kids there are very... talented."

I was confused as to why he would be principal of both schools. Being principal of one school was difficult enough, and i didn't think it would have been possible to lead two schools. Nonethless, i put my doubts away and continued to take in his appearance.

When I looked up to look into his eyes, he looked down, looked for something in his pocket and put on his black sports sunnies. I already had a bad feeling about this school, and with the way Principle Gray was acting, it was making the big knot in my stomach even bigger than it already was.

"So with that, I'll be off. Enjoy your stay here at National Grammar High, but I can assure you, one of you will be forced to move out very soon. Do not ask me how or why I know this, because I know that when I tell you, one of you will not see the end.

"Just stay out of my way and I'll stay out of yours. Obey the rules and you will find your stay here a piece of cake. Too-da-loo!" And like he said, with that, he was off.

"Hey guys, is it just me, or is this school really eery?" I said to thin air, because Nina, Neveah and Ayden were all walking toward their next class, leaving me behind to walk to Biology-the only class I shared on my own. I looked behind me and they were already gone. The knot in my stomach was growing worse and worse with every counting second here at this school, because it looked like the three of them were under a trance, and for some weird reason, I was protected from the weirdness going on with my friends.

When I walked into biology, the teacher wasn't there yet. Every table had two chairs, all of which were filled. This was a bigger class than I had expected it to be. I looked around to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me and in the middle of the class, was a spare seat next to a girl with long black hair, green eyes, and a curvy body. Everything about her was perfect, so I assumed she was the mean girl.

I walked toward the seat hoping that I would make quick and easy friends, but when I headed for the only available seat in the room, everybody went quiet and stared at me-awed. So apparently, I was pretty brave to sit next to this girl. She couldn't be that mean, could she?

I gave her my best smile and lay my books and my pencil case on the table. "Hi," I said. She gave me a weird look, as if she was thinking.

"So you're the new kid. I am Monique." Only she pronounced it Min-eek.

"I am-"

"Yeah I know, you are Ariana Taylor, the chick everybody has been talking about week in week out. Just to let you know, I am the centre of attention around here, and I can assure you, if you do anything to take the spotlight off me, then you will regret every minute that you are at this school. But I am sure that once I'm done with you, you won't even be here anymore."
