Grass' Misguidance

Copper and Grass were both very tired, Copper nearly falling asleep, and making the wheel turn hard, and Grass who was crouched over near the bow of the boat. Bolt was no where near the point of falling asleep due to so much built up energy. Another split at the end of the tunnel greeted them, Copper making a groan sound which indicated he needed directions. Grass didn't bother checking his map this time, and stretched out "port", Copper questioning what the country-like lumalight meant.

"It means left, you dingus" Grass yawned, Copper sighing of annoyance, and turning the boat to the left, the right way being in the opposite direction. Bolt ignored all the signs he read about dead end up ahead, and didn't even bother telling Grass and Copper about them. He was too blinded from the vibe the eerie river gave, making him drawn to the pattern of drifting waters. Copper signaled Grass to hold Bolt back before he randomly jumps in, ensuring everyone inside the boat's safety. "What's that?" Copper asked the small lumalight.

A couple of iron bar gates were wide open, and on one of the gates was a sign that said "Danger", and another one said "Proceed with caution", Grass running up to the back of the boat, and dropping the anchor, saving them from the fall that was just up ahead. Copper halted in shock, and noticed the long drop that was in front of them. "Why the heck were we going this way?" Copper whispered, not wanting to alarm the others that were sleeping. "I was sure that this was the right way" Grass muttered, checking his map again.

As the two continued bickering, Bolt happily skipped over to the back of the boat, and looked at the anchor in a flabbergasted way. "What's this?" Bolt asked Grass who was already busy with checking his map. Bolt continuously tugged on Grass' overalls, until Grass snapped, and shook Bolt in a violent matter. "We're trying to assess our situation here!..." Grass whisper shouted, Bolt still smiling as if he didn't know what was going on. "What's the anchor for?" Bolt questioned, Grass looking from the anchor in Bolt's hand to his face.

"The anchor is for holding the boat down in place, so it wouldn't move at all, that way we could have a moment to clarify where we're going... wait, WHY DO YOU HAVE THE ANCHOR!?" Grass screamed, snatching the anchor away from Bolt, and sprinting to the back, about to throw it back in the water until noticing the many misshaped monsters that were swimming up to the side of the boat. "On second thought, good job, Bolt!" Grass remarked, tying himself to the sail pole while Copper dragged Bolt downstairs, bracing themselves for the upcoming fall.

As the boat fell down the long fall into a new area, Grass closed his eyes, not wanting to see the tragedy to come to his creation of a boat. Copper made sure that Mid, Skull, and Aqua were all safe in case the landing was tremendous. Bolt looked out the window of the cabin, and witnessed the success of their escape. "We did it! Yay!" Bolt cheered for himself, Copper lightly smacking Bolt on the wrist, and heading upstairs, checking on their current status. "What's it looking like over here?" Copper quizzed Grass, Grass pointing at the bow.

Copper noticed that the extending part of the bow was torn off, there only being the oval front of the bow, and the remaining stern of the boat. "Okay, it's not so bad" Copper thanked the lords, Grass calming himself down before he began shedding tears. "My poor baby!" Grass whined, on his knees, and holding his hands out as though he was holding his prized possession in his hands. Copper went back to the wheel, and did one final check on how things were looking. The sail was still intact, and everyone downstairs was sound asleep.

Bolt returned back above to the top, and looked around their new location, the stern facing the long waterfall they fell from, the large spacious room they were in filled with only water and darkness. Grass pulled himself together, smacking his face a bit before getting a grip, and toughening up. "Let's proceed" Grass told Copper, keeping a brief memory in mind the tunnel's paths. "You do know where we're going, right?" Copper interrogated, hoping Grass had the slightest clue, yet of course he didn't.

"Actually, I don't, but I do know a certain area in these tunnels where we might have a chance of a better life!" Grass joyously danced around, Copper leaving his ears open for new ideas. "Okay, spit it out then" Copper encouraged him, Grass rubbing his hands together before giving a big reveal. "We're going...going to...uhh" Grass paused, thinking long and hard the place he was mentioning just seconds ago. Copper smacked himself on the forehead, not believing that they were lost. Bolt lit himself up, and ran around the edges of the boat, checking the river.

Deep inside the river, there were eyes that stared back at Bolt, him not showing any sign of fear, and waving at the eyes that stalked him. Copper had finished sulking over their defeat, and noticed Bolt who was conversing with the body of water. Grass had taken to realization the exact same thing, and watched Bolt with curiosity. "Hey, Bolt? What're you doing?" Copper asked, both him and Grass slowly walking over to Bolt who was still  looking at the river. "Look! Little water people!" Bolt beamed, Copper and Grass startled with that statement.

"Little water people? L-like Aqua? Water lumalights?" Copper hinted at, Grass observing the swimming figures under the boat. "Copper, I don't think those are water lumalights..." Grass trailed off, the spirits in the water facing the three that stalked them, and swam up with incredible speed. Copper and Grass jumped back, Copper rearing Bolt back by the arm, and keeping away from the edge. The insane moment had passed, and Copper was back to the wheel, replaying that memory that ruined his eyes, Grass doing the same when taking in their new area.

Bolt was running around the boat with nothing to do, thinking about what he assumed were 'friends' were doing in the water. Bolt had no clue what those "little water people" were, he was too young and pure to understand what those spirits were. The only thing he did know was that they were in the water, and Aqua might have some idea on how to communicate with them. So he went over to where Aqua was asleep, and whispered in her ear "wake up", Aqua stirring in her sleep. "Aqua, wake up" Bolt whispered louder, Aqua ignoring the obnoxious voice.

"Aqua, I need a favor from you" Bolt took Aqua's pillow from under her head, Aqua's little blue head plopping on to another pillow that Mid had prepared in cases for these. "Bolt? You okay?" Aqua questioned, Bolt nodding, and dragging her over to help him clear up a certain theory of his. Bolt wondered if Aqua could make friends with the spirits in the water, hoping they would lead them to a safe home. Could Aqua do it? Could she befriend the mysterious ''water people''? Or will Bolt fail to see the reality of their situation, and meet a perilous end?
