Her Own Proof

Aqua woke up from a lucid nightmare. It scared her to death almost. Just next to her was Copper with his head hung low, body slouching from the couch. Grass had announced Copper into house arrest, and Copper despised every second of it. The silence is what filled the air, Aqua wanting to break the tension in order to loosen Copper's nerves. They couldn't have possibly thought about keeping Copper locked in his home for a solid month! What was he going to eat when Dinnertime approaches? There was no telling what was in store for him. Aqua knew something had to be done, and fast!

"Copper, do you wanna talk?" Aqua asked the quiet lumalight, his head slowly turning to face his love. His eyes were half lidded, and his hands slightly twitched from his uneasiness. "Not now" Copper groggily stated, laying his body on it's side, and facing in to the couch. Even though she was told no, Aqua still comforted her beloved, rubbing his back gently while leaning over his figure to see him knocked out like a light. "Sleep tight, then" Aqua sighed, pecking a kiss on his cheek, and leaving out from the front door.

As she approached the door handle, she twisted it open, and nudged the door outward, spotting Flora who was staring at her with fright. Did Flora finally see Aqua? Or was it that the door opened on it's own, and no one stood on the other side? To test her theory, Aqua shut the door, waiting for Flora to react. Next, she reopened the door, patiently waiting for Flora to make any sound. There wasn't a single peep from her mouth, only wide white eyes that stalked the door. Cautiously, Flora inched backwards, avoiding contact with the door.

Grass was just beyond his front porch, tending to his hedges that were lined around his home. He had in his grip a handmade watering can, trickling water over the flowers preparing to blossom for Spring. "Flora, you look like you've seen a ghost" Grass called out for his wife, Flora facing back to her love with confusion. As she trotted back, Flora couldn't help but think about the door that opened. "Dearie, did you see that?" Flora pointed to Copper's home, Grass occupied with watering their plants.

"Grass?" Flora poked the flower on Grass' head, his hands shaking from the feeling of someone messing with the flower grown in his head. "What's the matter?" Grass questioned, setting his can down, and getting up from the rubble. "Copper's door swung open, and there was no-one there" Flora explained, Grass scratching the back of his head in disbelief. "Not you too, are you really beginning to see things?" Grass sighed, pulling his wife close to him so he can peer through Flora's eyes. "I don't know, but the door did open" Flora confirmed, her husband letting it slide off.

Aqua, the angel lumalight of water however overheard their conversation, and was stalking from over the hedges, accidentally tripping over the watering can that belonged to Grass. The sound of a metal clank bounced off the ground, Flora leaping into the arms of Grass in fear. In Grass' hands was a petrified girl, and in his mind was a scared man. "What was that!?" Grass shrieked, Flora shaking vigorously in Grass' hold. "I told you so!" Flora remarked, clinging on for dear life. This sprung an idea in Aqua's mind, one to prove Copper correct of his outrageous plan.

Later on in the evening, when everyone was preparing to set the long table for Dinner outside, Grass notified Copper that he was only allowed to exit his home for this occasion. Aqua on the other hand was not there just for food, but to also prove she indeed was alive. "Woody, could you pass me the firewood?" Bulb requested, him getting on the job, and serving Bulb her needed wood. "Thanks" Bulb thanked, sparking a fire, and starting to cook Dinner. Mid and Skull sat together at the table, talking to one another over Copper's action.

Cube, Oil, and Rubber were patiently waiting for the food to finish cooking, either tapping their hands on the table, or whistling a tune they've remembered. Then came Copper, everyone at the table avoiding eye contact with the lumalight that caused everyone a panic attack. Grass was the only one who focused on Copper, assuring himself that Copper wouldn't start another riot. "Everyone, food's ready!" Bulb announced, everyone one at a time grabbing their plates, and serving themselves dinner for the night.

Copper was the last to serve himself, pulling his hoodie above his head, and strolling aside the long table. The other spirits kept their gaze at their plates or friends and lovers. Aqua stood alongside Copper, not daring to say a single word. She had a plan in mind, and this plan required Copper not knowing a thing. Dinner kept on peacefully, Copper focusing on eating his food while Aqua began her several phases to make everyone believe she was still alive. For the first part, she had to tamper with Oil's plate of food.

Seconds before his fork stabbed through the meat on his plate, Aqua pulled the plate away from Oil's fork, Oil's eyes widening with confusion. He took another aim at his plate, and missed, growling in frustration, and emerging from his back a much bigger utensil, something Aqua has never seen before. With blood-hungry eyes, Oil slammed down his spear, and chomped through the meat on his plate, Aqua misjudging the type of consumer Oil was. The second part of Aqua's phase was pulling away Mid's spoon from his hand.

Mid had a bowl of soup, sipping lightly on the juices that were still available. In the midst of a slurp, Aqua tugged the spoon back lightly, not adding too much force in case it flung out of Mid's hand. "What the-" Mid began startled, fighting back from whatever force was joking with his food. Skull noticed his predicament, and watched with confusion what Mid was doing. "Mid, what are you doing?" Grass interrogated, Aqua loosening her grip on the spoon, and Mid fell back in his seat, Skull taking care of his short lover.

"My spoon felt like something was pulling it back" Mid informed Grass, the earth spirit rubbing the bridge of his nose with irritation. 'Another lost cause' Grass mentally noted, resuming with the remaining bits of food on his plate. For Aqua's final phase, pulling off Copper's hoodie repeatedly. The bronze colored lumalight was in the middle of finishing his meal, Aqua there to put a halt to his antics. With one swift movement, Aqua pulled back the hoodie covering over Copper's features. He ignored the feeling, and set it back over.

Yet again, Aqua reeled the hoodie down, Copper turning around to see whether or not it was one of the others who were at the table. He only saw the face of Aqua with an innocent gaze. He payed no mind to the female, and cleaned off his plate, parting from the rest, and heading off to clean his plate. No one seemed to believe Aqua was alive still, so it all came down to her backup plan. Just as Copper separated from his chair, Aqua tripped Copper over, catching the plate in her other hand. "Aqua, what the hell?" Copper winced.

Grass checked on Copper who tripped, and noticed the floating plate that had yet to collide with the floor. "Oh...my lord" Grass gasped, admitting himself that there was indeed a floating plate hovering in front of him. With his very eyes, it was proven that Aqua had a chance of survival. "Copper, if Aqua really is alive, is this her holding the plate?" Grass quizzed, Copper bobbing his head lightly. Everyone else gathered around to see the floating plate, giving their apologies to Copper for the inconvenience, and pardoning him from his outbreak.

Even thought they still could not see Aqua themselves, they finally believed that Aqua was with Copper this whole time. The real question for them was "Will they ever be able to see Aqua again?".
