The sunlight hit his face, gently warming it, gradually bringing him up through layers of sleep. As his other senses awakened, he became aware of sounds around him - cars in the distance...the screeching of bicycle brakes...voices of adults, voices of children, some happy, some rushed...a lone dog barking... Then he realized that he was lying on a hard surface, quite uncomfortable, and as he flexed his muscles to move, he felt a dull ache all over his body. He opened his eyes and saw the branches and leaves of a tree above him. On his wrist was a brand new Rolex watch, totally unfamiliar to him, and he groaned when he saw the time and day on it. He closed his eyes, trying to recall any bits of memory. But it was useless. He had lost three days this time.

He sat up slowly, looking around, trying to get his bearings. There were times when he had absolutely no idea when he was; once he woke up, hearing voices speaking an unfamiliar language and seeing faces of various ethnic backgrounds, only to discover he was in an airborne plane which eventually landed in Greenland. Not today, though, he sighed a breath of relief. He was on a bench in what seemed to be a park in China, he realized, when he saw Chinese faces and heard Chinese being spoken. Now he had to figure out where in China he was.
