Things didnt progress, as hawks was leaving and going. He was gone for most times, only coming back during late in the night when you were already asleep. You knew he was fine as he would take and eat the things you made and left for him in the fridge. You kept yourself occupied by sketching on paper, keeping the place clean and trying to get the slightest hint of memory back, Of who you are. Your only clues being the memory in the name (y/n) was called.
During a slow cloudy day, you'd had enough of being stuck inside all day. Changing into a different outfit you were quick to leave the apartment. You weren't going to wander around blindly but you atleast wanted to feel the outside air, and mingle around others for a bit. You were walking around a bit, counting and keeping track as to where you were headed. You had even written down the address in case you were forced to take a taxi. The sudden cries of a women who seemed to be struggling carrying bags of groceries caught your attention.
"Here ma'am",you grabbed two bags from her arms
"Oh, thank you so much", the peitie, Green haired women smiled
Her smile was so gentle and warm you felt a sense of calm wash over you momentarily.
"No worries, let me help you."
"Thank you young lady, I'm inko",she introduced herself as you both walked.
"I'm..",you hesitated but smiled," (yn)."
"My what a pretty name",she smiled
"Thank you"
"Tell me dear how old are you?"
"I..I'm not sure ma'am."
"Oh my",she frowned but was quick to seem to understand and smile,"Well you seem most certainly around 19 or 20."
"You think so?!",you asked excitedly, till now you didnt have clue of your age you'd taken guesses but having someone besides hawks guess your age made it more accurate
"Yes, I have a young son",she smiled,"oh look we're here,"she unlocked the door quickly,"come in."
"Excuse me then",you mumbled as you followed her in, it was a nice small apartment, you put her groceries down as you looked around.
A picture with her and who seemed to be her son were in it, he had frizzy green hair, and freckles. You smiled but the sudden migraine you got made you flinch back as you massaged your head.
"You okay sweety?",inko asked concerned,"wait here I'll brew some tea for you",she was quick to head to the kitchen before you could object.
Staying for a bit won't hurt...besides hawks hasn't come during the day in weeks. You made up your mind as you took a seat at her table.
"Thank you very much".
That afternoon you spent talking to the nice lady, she did the talking as you listened. You barely talled as you didn't have much going on. She mentioned her son but she also mentioned a name that sounded to eerily familiar to you but you felt you were only being dramatic.
"My son Deku is really smart, he got into UA",she grinned but lowered her gaze,"but I cant help but worry...he wants to be a pro but he's getting hurt so much...I don't know if I have the heart to let him continue."
"I believe you should",you replied,"a child, for now he needs the unconditional support of his mother. He's going to suffer Mrs Inko but we all do throughout our life's."
She smiled softly as she took your hands in hers,"You're really kind, I bet you have a good mother."
Those words made a bell ring in your head as a memory flooded your headed.
"I want to draw!"
"No, get a career that'll support you!",a women-no your mother yelled angrily
"This is my dream my life!",you yelled back as tears streamed down your face.
"I've raised and taken care of you! I've sacrificed many things in having you!"
"Then you should've thrown me away!"
"I should've off!"
Your eyes widened, as did hers when the realization of what she said finally settled in.
"(Y/n)..I didnt-I mean-I'm-",she stumbled on her words
"Forget it, I'm just a burden",you muttered as you left the room behind you.
"(Y/n)",inko called out worriedly
"Ah y-yes?",you replied flustered
"Why are you crying dear?"
"I'm crying?",you touched your cheek and sure enough tears were felt streaming down your face,"Why am I crying?"
Inko smiled as she gave your hands a soft squeeze,"Its ok, cry."
Your lips trembled as a sob left your body. Followed by your cries. Soon the fresh open wound that was made from the memory, was throbbing in your chest. You cried as inko rubbed your hands gently. Eventually when you had calmed down, did you apologize. She laughed it off and was quick to reassure you it was fine, when you left her house it was dark outside. She saw you off, and off you went.
You were walking down the street, walking back the path you had taken from earlier. A park stood nearby, wanting a moment of silence You headed there. As you slowly swung back and forth on the swing, the moon and near by street lamps lighting you. Many things didn't and werent making sense to you, how you got where you were. Who you were. Why nobody you knew had come for you, when you could remember having a mother.
"Maybe...she really meant it..",you muttered as you stared at the floor, a tear slid down your chin causing you to furiously wipe it away,"No don't cry! Dammit! We don't have time to be sad",you gritted out frustration taking over you.
You tried hard to remain calm, but everyday new thoughts and doubts clouded your mind. It was hard, being someone while not knowing who you are. Hawks was only being nice because it's his job. Had you not lost your memories he was sure to not have taken you in.
The sudden sound of what seemed flapping coming from above caused for you to look up. Your eyes widened at the sight, he looked angelic. Hawks stood hovering above you, his giant red wings extended standing out against the moon, you stared in awe as he dived down.
"Ren!",he yelled as he embraced you, his wings wrapping around the both of you, secluding you from the outside world behind his wings.
"Keigo...",you called out in surpise,"How...shouldn't you be at the agency?"
"I got out early since I realized, I'd promised to help you but instead I neglected you. So I went home",he explained quietly,"but you weren't home and I feared that you'd....",He trailed off shaking his head,"I'm just glad your fine don't worry me like that kiddo."
"I'm sorry",you replied as your wrapped your arms around him, your finger tips slighting brushing his stop feathers, you found his presence to be comforting, as odd as it sounded.
He abruptly pulled back and stared into your eyes, his face stone cold empty of the mischief and comforting look they had only seconds ago.
"Keigo..?"
"Have you been crying?"
You averted your gaze un embarrassment, not wanting him to see your red puffy eyes. A gentle hand then lifted your chin up to face him, his face barely centimeters away.
"Ren, who hurt you?",the question would've sounded caring but the hard gaze he had on told a different story
"Hawks...I'm tired",you whispered softly as you stared into his eyes watching as they softened, his wings wrapping you closer.
"Ren...let's go home",he whispered in your hair
"Yes."
