Hawks found himself out flying through the early chilling morning air. He couldn't help but yawn staying up was taking a toll on him But he wasn't going to let you know. You needed someone more than ever and he wanted to be that someone. The idea of you leaving his side hurt him.

But what hurt him more was knowing that even if you left his side he wouldn't be able to fly to see you. You'd go back to a world where his excistense meant nothing, a place where you'd have someone new. Someone to hold you when you cried, who'd make you smile, and laugh. Someone to protect you. Someone who wasn't him.

He clicked his tongue irritated at himself as he wiped away his stupid tears. He hadn't let himself dwell on the idea, and when they would pop into his head he was quick to ignore them. Because sometimes truths hurt way more than he cared to admit. His heart felt extraordinarily heavy, he had always been aware be wasnt emotionally ready, yet somehow he had passed that without realizing it. He stopped and landed ontopnof a building roof Looking down at the city, he hadn't really cared for. The only reason he bothered to try harder with work was because your precense was within the city and he would go through great measures to assure your safety. Even more than before, a figure landed behind him.

"You're late",hawks spoke not taking his eyes off the city

"Sorry sir I'll make to arrive earlier",Tokoyami replied as he approached his boss

"Its alright, either way let's do this quick you've got school later and I've got a place to be at",hawks yawned out as he lazily walked to the roofs edge letting himself fall

Tokoyami followed after him with dark shadows help. They both swooped in through the city, hawks using his red feathers to help those with minor problems. Tokoyami taking on the clean up, as they went through the city. Tokoyami had found it hard to keep up with his speed, and now with how things had gone hawks had become even faster making it harder on Tokoyami. Though he didn't hate it as it set him to want to match hawks in speed level it was hard to keep up. He came to a sudden stop as hawks had frozen in place.

"Sir?",he called out, but hawks remained frozen, he followed his gaze and came to realize hawks was staring at a jewelry shop,"Are you considering getting ms (y/n) a gift?"

Hawks snapped out of his trance as a smile stretched on his face,"You might be onto something kid, patrols over see you tomorrow!",he replied as he swooped into the store.

Tokoyami could only stare after him,"Bye sir",he sighed as he turned and began heading back.

When hawks got back home, he found you in the kitchen baking away. You had taken up baking due to the fact he had read online it heloed relieve stress and good for mental health. You didn't believe it but if it brought him comfort you'd give it try.

"You've been coming home earlier than usual these days",you smiled at him cleaning your hands of any stuck dough

"What can I say I'm really good at my job",he replied as he walked over, placing a tender kiss on your forehead

"Sure, but if it's because of me. Don't worry I'll be fine, the city needs you",you argued tapping his chest with your hand

"The city can wait, there's more heroes out there, they won't miss me, so don't worry kid",he chuckled as he walked over to the counter looking at all the stuff you had out,"I see you've been busy."

"More or less, but I wish I could be more useful. I feel like a trophy wife",you mumbled irritated

"You're so much more than a trophy wife",he replied, cupping your face into his hands,"Don't ever say anything bad about yourself...",he paused staring into your eyes a soft expression taking over,"I wish you could see how amazing you are in my eyes songbird."

You stifled a laugh at how corny he was being,"Alright calm down Sir."

He grinned admiring your laugh,"Oh I got you something!"

"You did?",you asked as you began working on your dough once again.

You felt his hands on your shoulders,"Close your eyes, no peeking."

"Alright then surprise me",you chuckled doing as he said.

You could feel rustling, then his hand brushing your hair out of the way. You could feel a small chain touching your bare skin.

"There open them",he coed as he stepped back the feeling of his warm hands fading from your skin as you opened your eyes.

"Keigo...",you gasped out in awe, a beautiful red gem hung from a simple gold chain.

That alone didn't make it beautiful but the fact the gem, had been carefully carved and polished to resemble a red feather. You gently traced your finger over it, you held it against your chest.

"Thank you",You smiled but froze when you looked up,"Keigo?.."

The strong man who'd saved you and had wiped your tears away countlesd times. Was standing infront of you, a saddened smile on his face, with tears streaming down his face. He was quickly as he averted his gaze to the side but you could visibly see his shoulders shaking.

You reached out a hand to him, placing a hand on his cheek you turned him to face you. His face was red, and tears streamed slowly down his face. Without a word he engulfed you in his arms, holding your body tight against his. You silently held him, as he sobbed his wings drooped low on the ground.

"It isn't fair!",he screamed startling you,"It isn't fair!", his body shook heavily under your arms, the strong hero was breaking.

You went to look at him when he spoke,"Don't!...please I don't want you to see me like this...",he pleaded, when he felt you nod be relaxed,"I worked hard....for my family...I never asked for more, I followed all the rules. I never asked for anything that wasn't mine, so why? Why?! Why can't I just be happy?!",he yelled his voice held so much raw pain it was unbearable to hear without feeling your heart shattering.

"Keigo...",you whispered his name softly, as you held him tight

"(Y/n)....please I'm begging, I'll give up my wings if that's what it takes but please!...Don't....",his voice cracked as he pulled back slowly, the pained expression you had told him his answer, as he looked away

"Keigo..",you called in a quivering voice, he turned to face you. You managed a small smile as you asked,"Do you want to go for a fly?"

He stared but managed a smile,"I wouldn't mind kid."
