Peeta's POV:
I text my girlfriend, Delly asking if she'd like to come to the beach with me today.
Delly: acc can we go 2 the park ? we rlly need 2 talk x
I wonder what this is about, I haven't done anything wrong so it won't do any harm. I tell her yes and get dressed and leave.
*at the park*
"Hey Delly," I say kissing her on the cheek as she sits on the bench.
"Peeta, hi" She looks serious. I'm not sure what's happening. "Peeta, listen. I know we've been dating for two years and don't get me wrong you're a great guy bu-"
"You're breaking up with me?" I cut her off almost choking on my words.
She gives me a sad, pityful smile, "It's not you, honestly. There's just someone else, and we got off to a really good start and then before I knew it I had my arms around his neck and we were kissing. It just feels more, you know - right, with him." I stare at the ground in silence until after a minute passes and I get up to leave.
"I wish you the best of luck with whatever his name is. Thanks for telling me when you did" I strain out before I could start crying. And with that I walk off.
I text Finnick immediately saying that we need to meet. He comes to mine three minutes later. Bounding into the room until he sees my expression.
"Would a sugarcube cheer you up?" He asks cautiously. I shake my head slowly and move it so little I doubt he could've seen it.
"Girl trouble...?"
"She dumped me. After three years of a pretty much happy relationship she cheats on me and dumps me." I sigh, fighting tears. I really, really liked her. We'd been going out since we were thirteen and I thought there would be a chance that we could have a happy ever after. I guess not.
"To be honest Peet, as your best mate we have to be truthful with each other, she was a bit of an annoying slag. She could be nice to all of us, but just not the other girls who fancied you. She bitched about them a lot."
I shrug. She could be horrible, I mean really awful to people, but super nice to those she cares about.
"Hug?" Finnicks asks hopefully.
I give him a manly hug. I so glad he's always there for me.
