Katniss' POV:
It's here. The day has come for me to go to my new school. Let's just hope the school has nice people going to it.
I come out of the shower, dry myself off and pull on and black chiffon shirt with a white collar. Followed by some beetlejuice skinny jeans and chelsea boots. I pull back my hair into a medium height ponytail and plod downstairs for breakfast.
"Sweetheart, you look absolutely beautiful," my mum states as I walk down the stairs. Prim stands next to her and nods giving me a fake-creepy look.
"Thank you guys, and as do you, Little Duck." That's what I call Prim. It came around because she always let her shirt untuck itself from her trousers or skirt and made her look like a duck.
"Your breakfast is on the table, Kat. I made you a bacon sandwich," I smile gratefully at my mother and tuck in. It's just what I need. Today is going to be super stressful unless I find some friends.
I clean my teeth, say good bye to my mum and Prim, tell Plutarch I'll see him there and hop into my white Range Rover.
I pull up to the school, and step out gazing at my new surroundings. A goodlooking boy is stood about two metres away from my car, saying fresh wheels.
When he sees me he sticks out his hand and says: "Want a sugar cube?"
I know he can see my startled look so he shakes my hand. "Finick,"
"Katniss."
"Nice to make your aquaintance Kat. Can I call you that, right?" I nod my head in response. "Cool. So you're new here, wanna hang with us?"
Wow. This is getting off to a good start. Until a different boy butts in.
"Finn, you have only just met her, why are you asking for her to hang with us?" I stare into his deep, deep, ocean blue eyes for five seconds trying to give him the death glare.
"So? She seems cool, Peet. Chill your beans."
"Sure," I say shrugging to make it seem like it's no big deal, but inside I am jumping up and down so much. But then I think...
What's up with this 'Peet' guy?
