The sweet sound of the birds' song woke me from my sleep.
Oh, how I missed the sweet sounds of nature.
But misquotes can go burn in hell for all I care.
My body is still recovering from the day before, but I've been in worse condition, much worse condition.Come on gotta get moving.
"Shut up traitor," I whispered under my breath.
Get moving before they do, Yankee.
He's right. You have to start going.
"Why do I talk to myself?"
It's more like we haunt you and we're too lazy to show ourselves.
Well said.
I sighed.
This was the result of a failed experiment. The Scientists hoped that it would grant me the ability to talk to others through the person's mind, but it failed drastically. So now my "past selves" can communicate with me. My past selves being the 13 Colonies, and the fucking traitor Confederate. I like to call them 13, and South/Con/Mistake/Traitor/Southern Son or SS for short.
Another result of a failed experiment is my heterochromia. They got a lovely idea from my ancestors that believed that a dog with heterochromia can see both the afterlife and the mortal realm. I can't see the afterlife, but I'd rather go there than back to the "research" facility.
So basically, the "scientists" gave me a new eye. An orangey-yellow one, it was like looking into a fire. My left eye was a cold blue, like a blue flame or a frozen river. But Con is right, I should start traveling.
I climbed down the mighty oak tree. I was amazed I didn't fall down.
I lowered my bloody and battered feet to the dark green grass.
Ow!
I gently ease myself on the grass putting on more weight and getting used to it.
Oh, okay I got this.
I took one painful, slow, and shaking step.
Come on, just walk, one step in front of the other.
My knees betrayed me and locked making me fall to the ground.I let out an intentional yelp.
Oh no.
I put a hand over my mouth.
I waited for the yelling, beating, and chains.None came.
Okay, we're fine.
I got up again and sucked it up and walked.
It hurt like hell, but it's either walking, or being caught and whipped, so I'd rather walk.My stomach growled.
How long have I been walking?
I looked up at the sky. It must be afternoon by now.
I'm getting hungry. I should start looking for food soon. I'm in a forest, so how hard can it be?God, it can't be hard. I looked for food for an hour now. What kind of predators are around here?
Ah-ha!
Berries!
Darn it! They're poisonous.
Guess my only hope is to catch a rabbit, so I transformed into a wolf.I heard a rustle.
Is it prey, or am I its prey? Only one way to find out. I stalked towards the sound. And waited for movement again.
There was a rustle behind me. I turned around quickly.I'm the prey.
