Ch 11: Rescue Training at The USJ; (part 1)

The basic definition of the word 'love' is an intense feeling of deep affection towards a person, a pet... perhaps a restaurant you really like, or a gift from someone important. Having a deep feeling of likeness towards something or someone is considered to be love. Love could be the most straightforward emotion... but it could also be the biggest mystery in life for people who haven't realized the feeling.

Izuku had a basic understanding of what the term meant. He knew love was a feeling... but he also knew it ran much deeper than some people might think. True love between two individuals is the deepest connection they can have, basically becoming one with the one another. What Izuku was feeling was an intense attraction towards a certain female, but he wasn't sure he could call it love. Sure he really liked her, and would give his life up for her without hesitation, but he wasn't sure if it was just his hero instinct, or if it was because he was truly in love with the girl. Hell, they've only known each other for about four months, but there was something called 'love at first sight'. Izuku wasn't entirely sure if what he was feeling was indeed love, since he had never truly experienced something like that with a person besides his parents. If it really was love, it was honestly a huge waste of time, and the 'love at first sight' stuff was complete nonsense. He knew his friendship with Kendo was a genuine one, but he knew she would never like him the way he did with her. It was obvious she wasn't interested in him that way... she made that very clear. Well at least he thought she did, but since he didn't know what exactly the girl thought, you can't really assume anything.

His life had been completely altered the day he met her. It's been a long road since then, having his absolute high moments, and hitting rock bottom in life at one point. It was as if from that point on, life was a game, where he had to endure challenging hardships, while also taking breaks in between when life eased up a bit. His ultimate end goal, was to become the number one hero... but now it seemed like Kendo was at the end of his goal too. He had wanted to become number one his whole life, but after meeting the orange haired girl... he had someone to fight for... someone to lean on... someone to make proud. It was as if his whole life revolved around the girl now... and he hadn't even fully realized it. Sure he had other people counting on him, like All Might, his mother, his now deceased father... his new classmates and friends... but the person at the top of all of them was Kendo. No matter what he did, whether it'd be training, homework, or challenges in his new school, he would always do it thinking about her. 'Maybe it is love...' Izuku thought as he drifted to sleep on recovery girl's bed, alongside the girl he was currently thinking about, who had already fell asleep on his chest.

Izuku was still in recovery girl's room, when he opened his eyes and looked at the clock on the wall which read 9:12 in the morning. The boy rubbed them and looked around with a daze, feeling a mass on his lap. He could see Kendo sleeping peacefully as she seemingly looked like a resting angel to him. He tried getting up to look around, as it was only the two of them there still. He felt the girl begin to move, as she subconsciously clutched the boy's pants.

"Don't go Izuku... just 5 more minutes please." The girl pleaded with her eyes closed.

Izuku's face lit up from her calling him by his first name. He realized that today was Friday, and they were already late to class... but what was weird was that there was no one in the nurse's office besides them, and Izuku couldn't hear anyone out in the hallway either.

"K-Kendo, we're late f-for class! Wake u-up or we'll get in trouble..." He stuttered as the sleepy girl had her eyes half opened.

"Oh Izu-kun~ I'm still recovering... stay here with me please." The girl shyly demanded as she wrapped her arms around the boys neck, who was now blushing up a storm, as the sleepy girl pressed her chest against his.
