Chapter 2-Preparations

Now that they knew the threat Bomei represented, they had to create a plan to keep him away.

After sharing the documents they found, all members of the royal family decided about what status Bomei had.

Everyone was now aware about the adoption of Takevu, Hiroshi and Haru, since Tai and Safiya became rulers, they changed the law so that adopted heirs could get to the throne if there were no longer biological heirs.

However, even if Bomei is biologically related to the king, being exiled, along with the slaughter and attempt of homicide against Haki, immediately left him unqualified of being an option for a future ruler.

Besides, it had already been decided that if something happened to the twins or more specifically to Tai, Takevu would take his place.

But they knew Bomei would try to take the crown by force.

"Alright everyone, we need to create a strategy" The heirs were currently reunited in Tai's room.

"We have already seen the physical qualities Bomei has, he seems to have been trained since young and very harshly" Safiya explained.

"However you said he has a weak point doesn't he?" Haru asked.

"Yes, his battle style was very reckless, like he only focused on inflicting damage instead of having a safe plan"

"This means that against a prepared opponent he will have difficulties" Takevu commented.

"Exactly, we can use this to our advantage, we could make an ambush or set some traps" Then Hiroshi asked.

"Do you think he has allies? Going against a whole kingdom, which has one of the most powerful armies in the world, by yourself sounds like an immediate death"

"He does have allies, or rather, people he made deals with"

All heads turned towards Haki, who was currently recovering from the attack.

Safiya approached him and said "How are your wounds doing?"

"Better than expected, they'll probably heal without leaving scars"

"I'm glad to hear that sweetheart"

"Sorry for worrying you love"

They seemed to get lost in the other's eyes when suddenly they heard snickers behind them.

Safiya's siblings... right.

The couple turned their heads towards the royals to see them staring at them, all with smug grins on their faces.

"Wow sis, I never thought you were the sweet-talking type" Tai said.

"Tai..." She was blushing once again.

"It's alright Safiya, we know that you have to be as gentle as possible with him" Takevu raising her eyebrows didn't help.

"You too!! This can't be" The queen covered her face, wishing earth swallowed her.

She could hear her siblings laughing at her embarrassment... so they now decided to make it their spectacle... great.

"We're joking sis, it's alright if you want to be softer with him, it's really cute" At least Haru gave her some reassurance.

"Thanks... I guess"

"Well we had some fun, now though, we have to concentrate"

Hiroshi looked at Haki and said "Do you know who Bomei is working with?"

"I do"

Haki took out a map of the borders and the surrounding areas, in the map there were some areas selected, it seemed to be at the east of the border.

"I sent some guards to investigate the area and this is what they got"

"Bomei made a deal with both rogues and a group of mercenaries, the deal consisted that they would help him conquer Genzo and in return he would give them part of the territory"

"There also seems to be a man that works as some type of strategist, but I don't have any details about him"

"However I believe that it is him who got all the information about us, probably he sent spies or something"

"But why would he attack you Haki?"

"I have three theories, the first one is so that you can't ask my kingdom for help, since they know about the relationship between both lands and while Yami doesn't have the same power as Genzo, it still can be a threat when entering the battlefield"

"The second theory is that they would try to create tension between our kingdoms, killing me and blaming it on you, doing this would have the objective to make war explode again and when Genzo won, it would be in such a weak state that conquering it would be much easier"

"The last one is that he tried to damage all of you emotionally, remember, they know about us, they have to be aware of my friendship with you and my relationship with Safiya, it was clear you would all be heartbroken if I died and we all know what happens when someone is consumed by grief"

"All of those are possible options" Tai said "However, I have the idea that he may have done it to... please our father?"

"What do you mean?"

Takevu sighed and said "Our father had an enormous hate towards Yami, he was partially the reason why we all acted so cold towards you at first"

Safiya then continued "Maybe Bomei's plan was to kill you as a way to prove himself worthy, but it makes no sense because father is no longer here and our kingdoms are allies"

"In the end, it doesn't matter why he attacked, the only thing that's important is that we are prepared for the next attack"
