Bomei was currently back on the small cottage he called home; his wounds hurt a lot but he wasn't focused on them.

He really believed that Tai was going to end with his life, after all, he almost killed his sister and he is also the cause of his sickness so he expected the king to rip him apart when he had the opportunity.

But he didn't.

Why? Why did Tai decided to spare his life? After everything he has done, he would have expected him to take the chance to get rid of him, most people would do that anyway.

But being beaten by Tai also made him reflect onto something.

Since he was a child his mother had always told him he was destined to be king but that Tai and Safiya had stolen his throne.

And she dedicated her time to train him to rule or at least that's what she claimed.

But looking back at it, she was just plain abusive, damaging him both physically and emotionally and while living as a rogue definitely had something to do with his lack of mercy towards others, it wouldn't be strange to think that she was the one who truly motivated it.

She always told him he was going to be king but Bomei himself didn't really want to rule a kingdom.

He started thinking that, maybe she was just using him, after all, she had lied to him for most of his life.

Not all people from Yami were cruel monsters.

Not all rulers had ill intentions.

And Tai and Safiya, his younger siblings, definitely weren't the arrogant, ignorant and tyrannical twins his mother claimed.

All the contrary, he had seen how much they loved their family and kingdom and between them there was such a special bond he couldn't describe.

They wouldn't hesitate to sacrifice themselves to save the other, he witnessed that.

Maybe... maybe he still had the chance to do what's right.

He realizes that he no longer wants to fight, that keeping the conflict going would only cause more death.

Bomei can't believe it took him a beating up by his younger brother to finally open his eyes.

He's glad about it though, at least he can still redeem himself before his mother access the throne.

But for now, he had to wait, the strategist of his mother seemed to have a plan, and he didn't like it at all.

He wasn't going to attack directly but rather, try to cause an emotional damage to the royals.

His main objective was Takevu, the closest sibling to the twins and the next member of the succession line.
