Some days had passed since the meeting, everyone in the kingdom was informed about Bomei so they were on alert in case he decided to attack.
It was now midnight and the twins were sleeping in their room, one of them wasn't so peaceful in his dreams.
Tai opened his eyes but he could only see darkness, after a while a figure appeared in front of him, he quickly realized it was his mother.
She smiled at him and said "Hello my child"
Tai smiled back and responded "Hello mother, it's nice to see you, even if it can only be in dreams"
"I know my child and I'm sorry I had to leave so early, however, I'm really proud of you, you have grown into a great young man"
"Thank you mother"
"As much as I wish we could stay like this forever, there is a reason why I appear now in front of you"
She asked "You have all encountered Bomei, right?"
"We have, he represents a danger to all of us" Then he remembered something he had been wondering about.
"Mother, I want to know, did father ever plan on telling us about him?"
"*sigh* No, not really, when you and Safiya were born, your father made a reunion with the people and prohibited them to talk about his ex-fiancé and first son"
"Did she ever tried to get back with him?"
"Kind off, while she couldn't enter Genzo, she sent letters constantly to him, most of them were rants about how I had taken her crown or threats about how she was training Bomei to kill him and become king"
"However, there was one that stood out, in it, she told him that she knew everything about his new life, not only about his twins but also his adopted children"
"Wait mom, how do you know this?"
"My son, I can see everything from the stars, and just like how I'm communicating with you right now I communicated with him"
"As much as I tried to convince him to tell all of you about them, he refused one time after another and now... he is regretting it"
"He is?"
His mother didn't respond, instead Tai felt a presence behind him and when he turned around he saw his father's figure.
"...Father?"
"...Son"
"Why didn't you tell us about Bomei?, we could have been prepared"
"To be honest, I didn't take the threats seriously enough, she had been exiled and I knew she couldn't come back without consequences, I thought you really didn't need to know the mistake I almost made"
"Dad I hate to tell you this but you did make a mistake"
"...What do you mean?"
"I understand that grandfather exiled her because she was a megalomaniac and I believe it was the right choice"
"However what I don't agree on is that he also exiled Bomei and that you didn't stop it"
"Why would I stop it? He is her child!"
"He is also YOUR child father, but most importantly, he was only a kid when he was exiled, do you really think it's fair for a 5-year-old to be kicked out of his home?"
"And what was I supposed to do with him? He would have ended going through the same path"
"How can you be so sure? Think about it, his mother makes him believe he is a king and that he should rule, those ideas she put in his head are what control his actions"
"But what if he was educated in a different way? You could have taught him to be a great king, he is very smart, he could have used his intelligence for the progress of Genzo, but no, because he has to live as a rogue with a manipulating mother"
"But how could have I kept-"
"Oh don't give me that excuse" Tai knew he shouldn't raise his voice, but his father's denial was so unbelievable "You were the crown prince, it would only take one order and Bomei would have stayed with you"
"Don't raise your voice at me young man" His father didn't tolerate being called out "Besides, it's not like you never made mistakes"
That hurt but Tai wasn't about to relent "I know I have, but I'm taking the responsibility for my actions instead of letting others solve it"
"You know father, I'm very sure all of us would have loved to have another sibling and Bomei could have been an excellent ruler"
"But now, we're going to be fighting to death and if we lose, whose fault is it going to be?"
"..."
"Goodbye father, I hope you reflect about your actions"
After those words his father disappeared and his mother appeared again.
"Son... that was too harsh"
"... I know, but I can't believe he never thought about this option, now, we have to fight"
"We can't change the past Tai but, you can mold the future"
"... do you believe we could convince Bomei out of the ideas of his mother?
"I don't know my child, but everything is possible, I understand if you have no other choice but to fight against him, however I ask you to try and talks things out"
"...Alright, I promise you I'll try mom"
"Thank you my son, well, it's time for me to leave, farewell and I love you"
After that his mother banished.
"... I love you too mom"
