Tai woke up panting heavily, covered in sweat and with tears rolling down his face.
It was a dream... what a relief.
"Tai, are you alright?" Through the darkness he could distinguish those characteristic crimson eyes.
"Y-Yeah, I-I had a nightmare" He said while wiping his tears.
Takevu sat beside him and asked "Do you want to talk about it?"
"... It seemed like a premonition; you were all d-death"
Takevu leaned her hand on his shoulder.
He continued: "We failed to fight the invasion and Konto took the throne"
"What interests me though, is that Bomei seemed to be against her, but he also failed to defeat her"
"...maybe it's not a premonition but rather a signal" Takevu commented.
"What do you mean?"
"...you may or not have noticed it but, Bomei seemed to be doubting his plan, as if he didn't want to continue"
"Maybe your nightmare was a signal that told you that there is still hope for Bomei, that he can still change for the better"
"... Do you really believe it?"
"Somewhat, but we can't know unless we try"
"...You're right"
Tai laid down in an effort of falling asleep again, soon he felt Takevu hug him from behind.
"Don't worry Tai, we're going to be okay"
She reassured without realizing it would soon turn into a lie for her.
The next day was going to be one of the last they would stay there before going back to Genzo.
Takevu was the only one absent since she was guarding the border.
When she arrived though, something was clearly different.
She had suddenly become very quiet and seemed to avoid glancing at the others.
It was very unlike her but they decided to leave her alone.
Next day she went to guard the border again, this time they followed her, they had the feeling that something was wrong.
And they were right.
