Chapter 11

"Today I want you to draw your favorite animal, insect or object" The art teacher said. "Alix and Nathaniel do whatever you want".

The class knew the two were above their level in art and got to do what they wanted most classes.

They all enjoyed seeing the masterpieces the two came up with.

Alix grabbed a gas mask while Nathaniel pulled out his sketchbook.

"What are you going to draw"? Alix asked.

Nathaniel shrugged. "Marc likes to be here when I work on the comic and Ladybug is getting boring to draw" he said.

"Why don't you try a different superhero"? Alix suggested. "Sure, you pick" he said.

Alix glanced at Chloe out of the corner of her eye. She was working hard on something.

"Draw who ever you want" Alix stood and worked on her own thing.

Nathaniel raised an eyebrow. "You're not that good at hiding things" he thought and started drawing Queen bee.

10 minutes before class ended the teacher went around to look at everyones work.

"Very nice Juleka" he got to Chloe and was surprised.

She had drawn a bee but almost every stripe was a different pattern. "You did that in an hour"?

Chloe nodded. "By yourself"? "One hundred percent by myself" She smiled.

"Good work, Chloe" The teacher moved on. She looked up and saw Alix motioning her over.

"What"? Chloe walked over and saw what she did. "That's beautiful" she stared at the pink, yellow and blue painting.

"Thanks, your pride flag has great colors" Alix smiled. "Anyway, I have an idea" she whispered.

Chloe listened and then walked over to Nathaniel.

"Hey Nathaniel" she sat beside him. "What do you want Chloe"? He sighed, waiting to be teased.

"I wanted to apologize for making fun of your drawings, I think they're really good" She said. Nathaniel blinked at her.

"Is this a joke"? He asked. Chloe shook her head.

"Well in that case, thank you" Nathaniel smiled. "What did you draw today, I saw you and Allykins talking beforehand".

Nathaniel slid the book over and showed her the drawing of her. "Omg, this is great"! She took in the details. "Why did you draw me though"?

"Alix suggested it" he answered. Chloe turned pink. "So, want to be friends"? She changed the subject quickly.

Nathaniel grinned. "Sure" he shook her hand.

"Ok, I got to go, toodles".

He watched her return to her spot and talked with Sabrina as she glanced at Alix, who was talking to Max.

"What do we have here"? Nathaniel thought.

"I'm never going to get how to do particle physics" Chloe groaned.

"I'm sorry I can't help you Chloe, I'm really busy with my own work" Sabrina said.

"That's ok, what about you, Allykins"?

Alix looked up from tying her rollerblades. "I'm barely good at it myself" she said. "But you could ask Max, he'll be at mine and Kim's race".

"That's a great idea"! Chloe smiled. "When is it"? "As soon as I get to the Trocadéro" Alix laughed.

"Then we'll tag along" Chloe said then turned to Sabrina. "You don't have to if you don't want to".
