Chapter 34

Cleo's POV

We go back to school today and I can't wait because there's a better version of me well I'm just more confident but let me have my moment. But I'm wearing a black turtle neck shirt and leather pants with black heels, I go downstairs and my parents are in the kitchen. "How do I look?" I ask them and Madison.

"You look great Cleo." My parents say "Yeah you look amazing just make sure nobody tear you down." Madison said as she handed me my plate "Thank you." I say before eating.

As I'm going to my car I get a text from Sam.

Hey beautiful how's your morning going?

Hey Sammy it's going good I'm just getting in my car.

Well be safe and I'll see you at school.

I put my phone down and start my car, I call Lily, Landon, and Thomas they pick up. "Do you need me to pick you guys up or are you using your cars?" I asked them "We're using our cars don't worry Cleo we're right behind you." Lily said "Okay bye." We hung up.

I park my car with my friends cars next to mine. We get out our cars and walk in the school and everyone looks at us well more like checking us out. Lily is wearing skinny jeans with a white fitting shirt and the boys gotten fresh too. There was people whispering but we didn't care we just walked down the hall to our lockers where Sam was waiting at. "Hey Sam." I say as we get closer.

"Hey beautiful." She say hugging me when we pulled back she was checking me out and bit her lip, oh gosh she looks so sexy. Snap out of it Cleo your in school. As we was getting our books we heard Ethan's voice "Lily." He say, she close her locker and turns around "What?" "Can I talk to you...in private?" He asks "No whatever you have to say to me you can say it in front of my family." She said.

You can tell that she just wanna get away "I want you back Lily I will change." He said "Yeah I'm not really trusting the 'I will change' line and if you wanted me you would've stopped me from breaking up with you." She said before walking off, we followed.

"I'll see you guys in math okay?" Sam say, I nod and walk into class. "You guys should just date." Thomas says "I don't think I'm ready to jump right back into a relationship." I tell them "Then tell her that or your just going to lead her on." Lily said.

"I will tell her at lunch." I told them as the teacher came in, I am actually nervous about how Sam would react I don't wanna lose her.

When lunch time came I was nervous but I hid it but I don't think I did it to well because Sam noticed and now we're walking to the bathroom. "What's wrong?" She asks resting her hands on my butt "Sam.. I don't think I'm ready to be in another relationship." I said slowly, her expression drop a little but she tried to hide it "It's fine I know what you mean." She said her voice cracking a little.

"Sam" "No I get it you need more time and that's fine I'll just continue being your friend." She said, I know that hurted her because it hurted me. I pulled her into a hug, she hugged me tightly before pulling back just as someone walked in. Sam left without saying nothing, what did I just do? I think I just lost her.

I let out a sigh and went back to the cafeteria. "Are you guys okay?" Landon asked me, I put on a fake smile and nodded. "Hey guys." We looked at Carter before going back our conversation.

"What do you want Carter?" Landon asked "I want Cleo." He said "Sorry she doesn't want you." I said "Well she will if she don't want this to get out." He says, then my phone beeps and I look at it.

It's some girl that got Chloe pinned to the wall and kissing her. I quickly shut off my phone "How did you get this?" I ask him "A little birdie sent this to me now you take me back or this gets out." "So your blackmailing me?" "No we're just making a deal." He said as he got up and kissed my cheek. "Bye babe." Then he left.

"Cleo what was it?" Lily asked "It was nothing lets go to class." I said packing up my stuff and leaving. I heard them calling me but I just kept walking, Chloe would never do that to Lola she loves her and they got a daughter together.

I sent Chloe the picture and asked her to explain it. Then the teacher came in so I put my phone away. After school I checked my phone it said that Chloe read it that's weird she usually responds. "Hey Cleo do you wanna go over to Chloe and Lola's this weekend?" Lily asks me, if I want an explanation from Chloe "Yeah." I said "Okay I told Lola." She said as we reached our cars.

"Cleo." I heard his voice "What?" I asked "Don't be like that babe I just wanted to see if I can come over." Hell no "No you can't my mom is sick and don't want anyone to come over and get sick." What type of lie is that? "Oh well see you tomorrow." He said leaning in to kiss me but I turned my head and he kissed my cheek.

"I'm not kissing you Carter." I said more quietly "Your forgetting who has more power right now and all I have to do is press post now do as I say and kiss me." I rolled my eyes and gave him a quick peck but he pulled me back for a longer one and when he pulled back I looked in the corner of my eye and saw Sam. Oh gosh God just kill me right now, when we made eye contact she turned away and left.

I pushed Carter away and got in my car and went home.
