Thirteen

Francine's POV

Mabilis dumaan ang 1week, and Saturday nanaman. Papunta kami sa St. Luke's para samahan si Seth na ipaalis and cast sa arm nya.

The whole week passed na medyo iniiwasan ko si Kyle. Hindi naman sa iwas, pero medyo ilang ako since AC is always around us, same with Darren. Minsan, I want to agree with Seth na may iba silang pakay sa pagbalik nila.

We aren't kids anymore, so hindi lang ito simpleng gusto nilang makipaglaro. Iniisip ko, andito na kami sa stage ng buhay namin where we get to fall in love, get hurt, fight for love, and so on. Pero minsan, natatakot ako. Lalo na nung nakita ko how love broke Ate Liza, hanggang ngayon. Natatakot akong mawala ko yung sarili ko just because I loved someone too much.

FLASHBACK (still Francine's POV)

The Zobels just left, and andito pa din kami sa new suite na kinuha ni Ate Kath for us a day or two ago. Nakaupo kami lahat sa dining area, para bang family meeting.

"What's going on, Kuya?" Tingin ni Kyle kay Kuya DJ.

"Is this about what happened nung nakaraan?" Andrea added.

Nagtinginan saglit si Ate Kath and Kuya DJ before looking back at us.

Ate Kath sighed before clasping her hands together.

"We know na hindi na kayo mga bata," Panimula ni Kuya DJ. "So, we'll tell you what happened that night."

Tahimik lang kaming apat, waiting for what are they gonna say.

"Let's start on why Liza and Enrique broke up nung December 2019." Sabi naman ni Ate Kath. "Enrique.. he made a mistake. He did something wrong and hurtful."

"Pero, he deeply regrets it." Depensa ni Kuya DJ sa panganay nila. "Pinagsisisihan na nya yun."

My heart is pounding, hindi ko sure kung kakayanin kong marinig ang lahat. We all saw how broken Ate Liza was, kita ko din kung paano nya sinusubukang maging matatag since she went home for the family events.

"Kuya came back from Cebu that day." Kuya DJ tells us. "Then, kinuwento nya saken na he went to Cebu to meet Sofia."

Sabay kami napatingin ni Andrea kay Kuya DJ. Si Ate Sofia ang bestfriend ni Ate Liza for the longest time, magkakabata sila and they attended the same school and college. Nabalitaan na lang namin na she went to Cebu right after Ate Liza left for France.

"Enrique had a baby with Sofia." Sabi ni Ate Kath na ikinagulat naming apat.

"What?!" Andrea exclaimed, she looked at Ate Kath.

In my part, medyo speechless ako. Papanong nangyari na may baby sya kay Ate Sofia when he was with Ate Liza for years? It sunk to me na he cheated on our Ate Liza. Nalungkot ako, kase they were always happy, pinangarap ko na magkaroon din ng kagaya ni Kuya Enrique pagdating ng tamang panahon for me.

"The baby is turning 1 year old by next week." Sabi ni Kuya DJ. "Nagkasabay sya sa event ni Kath."

"What?" Kyle asked. "So we're going to the birthday party?"

"Well, Kuya needs us there." Sagot ni Kuya DJ.

"Papano si Ate Liza?" I looked at Ate Kath.

"She decided to go back to France after ng event ko." She sighed. "She already booked a flight the same day we found out about Sofia and her baby."

"Pero, Ate--"

"Andrea." Pigil ni Ate Kath sakanya. "Pabayaan na natin si Liza to cope up in her own way."
