Reader/Author POV/3rd Person POV

Dumating na nga ang araw ng pagbasa sa case against Richard Ayala. Everyone is in the court, pero this time, it's the Ayala vs the San Juan. Medias are waiting outside the building, para bang buong mundo ang nakaabang sa magiging hatol ng kaso.

You can feel the tension in the room as they all try their best to take a glance on each other.

Kath kept on bitch face on, trying not to show any weakness in this court. Francine, and Andrea tried their best to be strong, and to show a face where people will see that they won't back down unless justice is served.

On the other side, kita naman sa faces ng mga Ayala ang pag-aalala. After all, Tatay pa din nila ang nasasakdal sa kaso. The boys tried their best to keep their composure in this dreading situation. Dalawang pamilya, dati na laging side by side, pero ngayon, against each other.

Guilty.

Yan ang naging hatol sa kaso. After reading the sentence, Kath took a deep breath before looking sa side ng mga Ayala. Pagkaharap nya, nakita nya si Daniel na nakaharap na sa side nila. Their eyes are locked on each other, na para bang sila lang ang tao sa courtroom.

Kath was about to cry, so she looked away. The commotions, and emotions are all over the room. Kath immediately grabbed her siblings, and headed out of the court room kung san sinalubong sila ng media. They remained silent, and they continued walking down the stairs.

Agad silang sumakay ng sasakyan na hinabol ng media habang papalabas sa gate ng court building. Tahimik ang buong byahe ng mga San Juan pabalik sa Tagaytay.

Naunang pumasok ng bahay si Kath, kasunod sina Francine at Andrea. Kath stopped in the middle of their living room, so did Francine, and Andrea.

Silence broke when Kath screamed, and threw her bag na tumama sa glass center table causing it to shatter into pieces. Kath then broke down crying on the floor.

Agad naman syang nilapitan nila Andrea at Francine. They hugged Kath, as they all cry down on the cold floor of their house.

Daniel slammed the the door shut behind him.  He went straight to his bed, grabbed a pillow, he covered his face, and screamed.

He let out a disappointed sigh when he removed the pillow covering his face.

"Shit." Daniel cussed in frustration. "Shit!" He repeated in a louder voice, sabay hagis sa unan na hawak nya kanina.

Daniel headed to their backyard with some drink. He poured another glass, and took it all in one gulp.

"DJ." Lumingon si Daniel para tignan kung sino ang tumwag sakanya.

"Kuya Enrique?" Nagtatakang tanong ni Daniel.

Nilapag ni Daniel ang baso sa table bago tumayo at lumapit kay Enrique.

"What are you doing here?" Tanong ni Daniel sa panganay nila.

"Why are you drinking?"

"Hindi ka ba nanonood ng news, Kuya?" Medyo iritableng tanong ni Daniel.

"I heard the news, DJ." Enrique answered calmly, but stern.

Silence took over for a while.

"I can't believe Dad did it." Sabi ni Enrique. "How's Mommy?"

"She's in her room." Sagot naman ni Daniel. "Hindi pa din sya lumalabas since we got home from the court."

"Kyle, and Seth?"

"I don't know, Kuya." Daniel sighed.

"Nakausap mo na ba si Kath?"

Napalingon agad si Daniel when Enrique mentioned Kath's name.

"Kuya, what will I even say to her?" Daniel asked with a mad, frustrated tone

"Ano, Kath sorry kase my Dad killed your parents?!"

Kita ni Enrique how frustrated Daniel is.

"Kuya Enrique?"

Daniel, and Enrique turned to see Seth, and Kyle.

Agad na nilapitan ni Enrique ang mga bunso nila.

"Kuya's here." Sabi nya before hugging Seth, and Kyle.

Later on, sumama na din si Daniel sa group hug.

"We'll get through this." Sabi ni Enrique sa mga kapatid nya.

1 WEEK LATER

"Are your passports, and tickets ready?" Tanong ni Kath sa mga kapatid nya bago sila sumakay sa van nila papuntang NAIA.

Ngayon ang araw ng alis ng mga San Juan patungong Australia. Kath decided na dun muna sila mag-stay after the tragedy. Pumayag naman din ang mga kapatid nya. Dun na din nila itutuloy ang treatment for Liza.

Palabas na ng gate nila ang van when the driver stepped on the brakes dahil may car na humarang sa daan.

"What's that?!" Kath asked, then she saw the car.

It's Daniel's car.

"Stay here." Sabi ni Kath sa mga kapatid nya.

Bumaba sya ng van, bumaba din si Daniel ng car nya.

"Kath, can we talk?" Agad na lapit ni Daniel kay Kath.

"What, DJ?"

"Please, please don't go." Daniel plead.

He tried to reach for Kath's hand pero lumayo sya 1 step backward.

"I understand that your mad--"

"I'm not mad, DJ." Kath cut him off in a stern voice. "I'm frustrated, I'm hurt." She added. "We all are." Tears started to fall from her eyes.

"Kath, don't leave." Daniel's voice broke. "Please, wag mo kong iwan." He finally cried.

Daniel then again reached for her hand. He placed Kath's hand on his cheeks, and looked right in to her glassy eyes. Daniel closed his eyes, then kissed her hand.

"Seth, hurry up!" Kyle exclaimed.

"Gusto mong habulin tayo sa overspeeding?!" Seth fired back, pero binilisan naman nya ang takbo ng car.

They are currently on their way to Tagaytay para habulin ang mga San Juan.

After some overspeeding, they finally arrived at the residence. Dali dali silang bumaba ng car when they saw Daniel on the curb.

"Kuya!" Seth called. "Asan na sila?!"

"They already left." Mahinang sagot ni Daniel, his eyes still on the ground.

Tinabihan nila Seth at Kyle ang Kuya nila sa curb side.

"Let's go home." Malungkot na sabi ni Kyle.

Daniel sighed. He looked up in the sky, then a rain drop hits his face. He closed his eyes, then rain finally started falling.

I'll wait for you, Kath.
