After Derek left, Scott and I tried to come up with a plan to keep him locked up during the full moon. He was running out of options so we were a little desperate.

"The freezer? Really, Scott?"

"We don't have a choice, Wes." Scott justifies.

He looks up at the small window, noticing the moon almost at its peak. "I'm running out of time."

I sigh. "Alright, I'll call Stiles and tell him the plan."

Scott nods and sits down at the bottom of the stairs as I pull out my phone, dialing Stiles' number.

"Hey, Stiles. He wants us to lock him up inside of Isaac's freezer."

"What? That's a terrible plan."

"I know, I know, but there's not much else we can do."

I can hear Stiles sigh through the phone. "Okay, but Allison's going to bring them. I've got to get to the station before the hunter does."

"Alone?"

"No, I'm gonna pick up Derek."

"Alright. Don't die."

"You either." Stiles says before he hangs up.

It's been a few minutes and Scott is really starting to look bad. His eyes keep changing from brown to yellow and he can't keep his fangs in. Just when I thought she wasn't going to make it in time, I got a text from Allison.

"Hey, Scotty? Allison's here, okay. You're gonna be fine." He nods slowly as I get up to meet Allison at the front door.

"Wesley?" I hear as I turn the corner.

"You don't know how happy I am to see you. Scott's down here."

I give her a quick hug and lead her through the kitchen and open the basement door. She turns on her flashlight before entering.

"Scott?" Allison calls out as she cautiously descends down the stairs.

"Here." Scott answers, his voice sounding much deeper and a little growly.

She carefully edges her way towards him and sits down Stiles' gym bag. She unzips it and pulls out some of the chain.

"Are you sure we have to do this?" Allison asks looking between us.

Scott slowly looks up at us, his fangs and bright yellow eyes on show. "Yes."

"Where?"

Scott looks over to the freezer. I get up and lift the lid up before walking back to Scott.

"You're gonna be okay, buddy." I reassure him.

I give him a small smile and grab his arm, helping him over to the corner and inside of the small box. Scott slowly lies back in the open freezer as I look at him sympathetically. I really don't want to do this and Allison clearly doesn't either, but I don't know what else to do.

"Please. I don't want to hurt either of you." Scott pleads, most likely noticing our hesitant expressions.

I sigh and nod before slowly closing the freezer shut. I turn to Allison to see her still staring at it, making me reach for her hand.

"He's going to be okay, alright? Come on, he's Scott, remember." She looks up at me with a nervous smile and nods.

Letting go of my hand, she walks over to Stiles' gym bag to start unraveling the chain and handing it to me. I begin wrapping them around the freezer and through the lock pad, pulling it to make sure it's tight enough.

"It's done. It's locked." Allison tells him.

"Go."

"Scott, I can't-"

"Wesley, get her out of here." Scott growls, losing control.

"Come on, we gotta go." I grab her hand and swiftly lead her up the stairs.

Once we're out of the basement, I let go of her hand to close the door behind us and quickly grab a kitchen chair, propping it against the door. When I turn back to Allison, she has a very worried look on her face.

I walk over and hug her, resting my chin on top of her head.

"What next?" Allison mumbles.

"I don't know, but hey, at least tonight can't get any worse."

"Don't jinx it."

I was about to say something, but I stop as I begin to hear a weird sound coming from the room next to us. I slowly pull myself away from Allison and look at her. It was evident that she had heard it as well as she places a hand over her mouth to keep from breathing.

My heart starts to race as I slowly inch my head to the right and see a dark shape being silhouetted by the windows in the living room. Its eyes are yellow like Scott's but there was something different about them. Allison suddenly screams as she sees it as well causing it to hiss at us.

I panic as Allison retreats into the kitchen. She pulls a butcher knife out of the block and grips it with a trembling hand. The creature from the other room approaches, causing me to freeze. Its eyes lock with mine as it hisses at me but I don't move. I can't move.

Holding the knife, Allison actually steps forward.

"Come on. Come on!" She antagonizes.

Suddenly the basement door explodes into a million tiny splinters and the kitchen chair I propped against it skids across the room as Scott rolls in front of us and springs to his feet in a protective stance. The creature snarls, darting up the wall and then onto the ceiling, causing me to furrow my eyebrows. I then notice it's tail and reptilian face as it comes into the light. What the hell is this thing?

It shrieks, revealing its razor sharp teeth as I stare at it in fear. Just when I thought it was about to attack us it rapidly darts across the ceiling, slipping out the door and into the night.

Allison walks over to Scott and me. "What the hell was that?"

"I don't know."

"I think I jinxed it."

Once I got home, I was seething. How could I freeze in a moment like that? Derek was right. I couldn't protect myself let alone anyone else. I was weak. I've always been weak and that's never going to change. I'm going to get someone killed and I don't think I could survive that again.

My anger overwhelms me as I grab my desk lamp and throw it against the wall, but it never collides as someone catches it.

"Derek?"
