"I'm gonna go to the ice rink and see if he's there. If he's not at home, you two call me. Got it?" Scott tells us as we walk down the hall.

This could be my chance to confront Derek.

"No, I'm coming with you."

Scott stops before giving me a weird look. "What? No, it could get dangerous."

"Scott, I'll be fine. Please, just trust me."

Scott pauses for a moment before sighing. "Okay, but stay with me the entire time."

"Maybe we should let him. Boyd, you know? You said Derek's giving them a choice, right?" Stiles suggests.

Scott grabs him by the arm as we continue walking. "We can't."

"You have to admit, Erica looks pretty good. The word sensational comes to mind."

"Yeah, but is that worth a lifetime of running from hunters and anything else that wants to kill them?" I counter as Scott nods.

"Alright, all I'm saying is maybe this one isn't Scott's responsibility."

"They all are. You know this thing's going to get out of control. That makes me responsible."

"Alright, we're with you. And I also gotta say this newfound heroism is making me very attracted to you."

Scott Scoffs before looking away. "Shut up."

"No, seriously, you want to try making out for a second?" Scott shoves him forward before Stiles continues. "Just to see how it feels."

The rink is very dark, with only a single light illuminating the middle of the ice. Scott and I step onto the ice and walk closer to Boyd who is driving the ice resurfacer towards the back of the building.

"Boyd!" Scott shouts.

Boyd glances at us before looking forward again, turning the wheel as he gets to the edge of the wall. Scott turns to me before calling out again.

"We just want to talk. Hey, come on, Boyd, please." He won't even glance back as we walk closer. "Did Derek tell you everything? And I don't just mean going out-of-control on full moons. I mean everything."

This gets his attention as he finally stops and turns off the resurfacer. "He told me about the hunters."

"And that's not enough for you to say no? Whatever you want, there's other ways to get it.

"I just want to not eat lunch alone every day."

I furrow my brows before stuffing my hands into my jacket. "So you thought being Derek's lap dog was the only solution?"

He doesn't say anything.

"If you want friends, you can do a lot better than Derek."

"That really hurts, Scott."

Scott and I turn around, seeing Derek standing at the entrance with his attack dogs behind him. Just hearing his voice made my blood boil.

"I mean, if you're going to review me, at least take a consensus." He motions to Erica and Isaac. "Erica, how's life been for you since we met?"

"In a word?" Erica twirls her hair, pretending to think, before revealing her fangs and letting out a growl. "Transformative."

"Isaac?"

"Well, I'm a little bummed about being a fugitive, but other than that? I'm great."

"Okay, hold on. This isn't exactly a fair fight." Scott says as he motions for me to step back.
