"NO" I cry from the couch.
I drop my glass on the floor out of shock and it shatters.
The water goes everywhere.
Normally I would clean this up right away, but I don't have time.
This is urgent.
"Lando, grab me your fucking keys. And I know you're scared of my driving so bring your helmet if it will stop you from screaming." I say as I grab his helmet off the shelf and throw it at his chest like a basketball.
"Why did all the aggressive driving jeans skip me and go to you?" Lando asks me.
"Shut up. Its because I'm your sister. Now get in the car. And by the way they couldn't have skipped you. We were born at the same time. I must have just stolen all your courage and driving skills in the womb. That's what you get for being my twin." I say as I march aggressively out the door.
Lando follows behing meekly and seems scared of me.
As he should be.
No one crosses Y/N and is completely okay afterwards.
I get in the car and Lando gets in the passenger seat.
He does his seatbelt, puts on his helmet and braces himself on the roof and dashboard.
"Relax, you big baby" I say
I put my hand on the stick, and put the car in reverse.
I swing my hand behind his headrest and turn to look out the back window.
I slam my door on the gas pedal.
We shoot backwards.
I aggressively spin the steering wheel all the way around and then change the stick from reverse to drive. And we drive off at an extremely high speed.
"Y/N holy crap slow down" Lando said horrified.
Which just encourages me.
We are at his doorstep in a matter of minutes.
We knock, and he answers pretty fast.
"Hello?" He asks.
"CARLOS WHAT THE HELL MAN YOU CANT JUST GET UP AND LEA-"
"shhh." He cuts me off.
"Come in. I have jamon" he said.
Lando goes straight for the plate of jamon, but I dont.
"Carlos why?" I ask.
"You heard?" He asks.
"YeS I HeArD" I say irritated.
"Why?!"
"Its a better move for me and my caree-"
"NO" I interrupt.
"No it's not."
"Y/N its Ferarri." He said.
"Yes, and I'm your best friend, teammates sister, sort of girlfriend, life choice counselor and I should always be consulted before these choices are made. You know I have a gift for sports predictions. And I told you last month; Ferarri won't stay great forever. I said it would become midfield before Seb left. And just you wait. They will. And you will be sorry you left us and your family of engineers at the McLaren team without at least telling me what you were thinking. Which team am I supposed to support now?!" I ask.
"MCLAREN" lando shouts through a mouthful of jamon and glass of milk beside him.
"Y/N, I'm sorry-" he said.
"Carlos I know you are. And its foolish of me to think you will tell me everything before you do it. I just thought that because I always help and give advice for drivers team changes, I'm your current teammates twin sister, your sort-of-girlfriend:yes I know its complicated: and I'm your best friend, I just hoped you would have atleast told me this." I say.
Carlos stares at me speechless and appears to be heartbroken.
"Come on Lando." I say. "Let's go." I glance at Carlos. "I'll be back ." I mouth to him.
"Kfhomfhingf" lando said stuffing his face. I think he tried to say 'coming', but it sounded like gibberish.
"Carlos, McLaren will miss you." I say as I turn after I left his place, and close the door behind me.
Yes
This hurts
But I love him.
And I know he cant tell me everything.
Some stuff needs to be kept confidential until it is released to the press, so no rumors go around with accidentally leaked information.
But I hope he knows how much I'll miss him
And I hope he misses me just as much.
A/N
Ok. So I know Carlos has been signed with Ferarri for 2021 for a while now, but I thought it needed a part. And I'm devastated.
He was amazing
And a great McLaren driver
And now Ferarri is worse than McLaren.
So for his sake (and for others fans sake. Maybe we could have some top 3 action) I hope Ferarri improves for next year.
