Love

P:   Ray and I walk towards the river, the water slaps harshly against the rocks. I jump as I hear a growl but realise it is just the river. We continue walking until we see a waterfall. It isn’t the same one we went into last time but it looks identical. I grab the empty bottles and walk to the pool part. I dip the bottles in until they fill with the cool water. ONce I finish I tighten the lids and place them back in the bag.

“Seems we should head back. Don’t you?”

“Taji we just got here!”

I shake my head, jokingly. “Okay mister.”

I walk to the edge and peer in, “What are we going to do?”

The light of the sun glows down on me and then all of a sudden Ray pushes me in.

I surface and see a cheeky grin, “HEY!”

I swim to the edge and grab his leg, pulling him in.

We swim for an hour before getting out to rest, I go for a walk and find myself in the waterfall. The sun glows through the water leaving the rays into fragments. I sit their and lay down, watching the caves roof.  I hear footsteps and look beside me, no one is their. I continue to look up until a hand grabs my hand and pulls me up. Ray stands their, beautiful with water trickling down him. He smiles and the sun glows down on us. He touches my cheek and lifts my head up. My heart beats faster than I have ever felt and I feel alive. He lowers his head down and his lips touch mine, I feel a spark of energy and then it leaves. My lips tingle as he pulls back. Then I kiss him and the world goes numb, we kiss harder and then fall on the ground. He lays their with my head on his chest. I play with his hand as he plays with my hair. We lay like that until we hear the song of the owl and realise it is time to leave.

 

E:   We walk back to the camp and we are the last back. Night is closing in on us. We got the water, Danny, Blake, Jacki and Hayley killed a few birds, Krueger and Sophie did a good job at guarding our spot and we are yet to hear from Meki, Pi and Beth.

“We found a small village a few miles east from here. It’s a little run down but abandoned. Pretty perfect for us.” Announces Meki. We all sit around the campfire that night, sharing stories and eating dinner. They must have forgotten about the worms because no one brings it up...or theyre just being nice. Beth tells us about her old life and after that I decide to go to bed. Early bird gets the wor-- nevermind. I walk to Rays tent and lie on the left side of the tent. Soon after he comes in and lies down next to me. We lie there looking at each other until I speak up.

“I think we should venture to that village he was talking about. Sounds nice, good location too.” I say. “ We could live there and it would be a lot saf--.”

“Do you ever stop talking?” He kisses me lightly on my forehead and then makes his way down to my lips. We soon fall asleep, our hands intertwined and our foreheads touching.
