Haunted Forest

P: As night falls, the sound of owls hoot in the distance. We still make our way forward, not stopping for anything except a few toilet breaks. As Ray walks off to make a quick pee, Jacki and I discuss where we possibly would be.

“I think we are back in our normal world, well yours anyway and we need to find a correct route to the Girsht Tribes group.” I say.

“The what?” Jacki asks.

“The Girsht Tribes.”

“Never heard of them, anyways, what would we do there?”

“Make our new home their, well anyway, not particularly their but roughly in their area.”

“I have got it!” Jacki says,” We go their, ask Ray to go hunting, then ditch him and make our way to a new tribe.”

“What!? No Jacki, we are not leaving Ray. I love him and why would you say that, you think he isn’t that bad yourself.” I whisper.

We hear a branch crack and quickly turn our heads to the direction of the noise.

“So you do love me, I was starting to worry you didn’t because I haven't gotten my hourly kiss.” Ray says as he puckers his lips.

I push myself up and walk over to him, I grab his shirt and kiss him. A bit harshly but he does the same back. He leans me over and we kiss for a while longer.

I hear Jacki making sickly noises and I laugh, finally he lets me go and smiles.

“Now that is what a man needs, so Jacki, where are you going to ditch me?”

“Uhh.. nowhere. I wouldn’t do that Ray, it was Taji’s idea!”

“Oh really,” Ray walks over to Jacki and lifts her up, bringing his face close to hers, he growls with anger and speaks softly, “If you ever say that again, or try to at least. I will find you and will kill you. never break me and Taji apart and never lie to me, especially about Taji.”

Jacki gups and nods, I step back in shock and trip over a fallen log. I land on my butt and rubbed my now bruised arm.

“Guys stop!, Something is creeping me out here, something is doing something to us. We aren’t like this, lets go.”

Ray nods and grabs our stuff. We run, far from that haunted place.

 

E: As we get further away from that place, I notice everyones faces lighten up. It must have been a cursed patch of land, or something...but then why didn’t affect me? Well, at least it’s over. It was strange to see people you loved fight. Especially against each other. They seem themselves now. As I stare down at the ground I hear Ray apologizing to Jacki and Jacki saying sorry back.

“I was really scared back there guys.” I say.

“Sorry, I couldn’t control it.” Answers Ray.

“Neither” Jacki says.

“It’s over now, right?” I ask.

“I think so” replies Ray.

“Good, because I don’t want to lose either of you.” Ray smiles and so does Jacki.

“I don’t want to lose you either.” Ray stops me and leans down to and kiss my forehead. A smile sweeps across my face.

“Love is gross, but not gonna lie, you two are really cute together.” Says Jacki.

“Aww, don’t worry Jacki, you’ll find someone soon.” Says Ray

“Maybe.” I add.

“Yeah probably not actually.” Says Ray. We all laugh and carry on like this until we see something up ahead. Something moving in the darkness. Ray clenches my hand.

“If that’s what I think it is, we should probably start running” I whisper.
