Honestly I was coming on here to tell you guys that I was going to discontinue this until further notice... but someone in the last chapter asked me to update again, and it just made me feel way to sad to abandon this project. So here I am!!
I feel as if my characters don't actually embody the ones of Hinata and Kageyama. I wanted to make them more mature than there teenager selves. But something someone has said to me before (not about my book) made me think about the way writers embody their characters personality, and I felt that I had failed at it. But either way I'm going to continue.
When they reached the hospital Hinata was close to losing consciousness and unable to stand on his own. The nursing staff brought out a stretcher and had took him back quickly while asking questions and checking his wounds. When a nurse approached Kageyama he told her about what happened and where Hinata had said he was hurting while leaving out the Kutabare part. That was something to tell the police later. The nurse told him she would call for an officer to come and make a report over the assault after Kageyama asked if he would need to go to the police station to report it.
Kageyama returned to the taxi and paid the driver even more than he had promised for the trouble and any clean up of the blood they had left behind. After settling that he returned to the waiting room and sat down, hands clenched together in nervousness as he waited. ‘Please be okay Hinata.’
‐---------------Hinata felt like shit. His mood was obviously not any better. His head was throbbing, his whole body ached, and these damned nurses wouldn’t let him go to sleep. They first patched him up and put IV’s in him, then after poking him for what seemed like a hundred times, they put him in this weird machine which he heard a nurse call a MRI scan, whatever that is. After that terrible experience he was finally allowed into a room, yet still unable to sleep. He was upset, but at the same time scared. Kageyama was nowhere in sight and it made him uneasy. At this point all he could think about was getting some sleep so that hopefully he could just forget what happened for now. And when he woke up… he could see Kageyama again. It wasn’t until a doctor came into his room and told him he could sleep that he finally was able to. As soon as he heard those words, he fell asleep immediately without even listening to the rest of what the doctor had to say.
-----------------About 2 hours after they had taken Hinata a nurse came and told Kageyama he could go to Hinata’s room. She warned him to let Hinata have his sleep, and when Hinata was awake again the doctor would come to speak to him. Kageyama agreed and was taken to Hinata’s room where he saw Hinata resting peacefully in his bed. He sat in the chair next to Hinata’s bed and studied his peaceful figure. He had his head bandaged up on the top and bandages lining the top of his chest from what Kageyama could see with his hospital gown and blanket covering up the rest.
He was pissed about what happened. This shouldn’t have happened to Hinata. That bastard…
Kageyama sighed and laid his head on the edge of hospital bed next to Hinata’s shoulder. He reached out and grabbed Hinata’s limp hand, entwining it with his own. Slowly he felt the lull of sleep over take him, his hand still holding Hinata’s, hoping that even in his sleep he could give him comfort.
-----------------
Hinata awoke to a soft rapping on the open door to signal someone’s entrance into the room. The first thing he noticed when he sat up was how the light from the window seemed to blind him, which meant it must be morning. The second thing seemed to make his heart almost leave his chest when he realized Kageyama was sleeping right next to him... and holding his hand! The thought made Hinata smile in warmth and tighten his hold on Kageyama’s hand, not wanting to let go.
