Sorry for any misspellings, I haven't gone through and checked for mistakes yet. I probably won't unless it's noticeable for others, so if you notice some errors let me know! I'll greatly appreciate it 😁

When they arrived at Ennoshita’s apartment they all set camp in the living room except for Kageyama, Suga, and Daichi who were showed to the guest room. Kageyama knew they were giving them this room because of how much they had gone through with the situation, it made Kageyama smile slightly at the thought of all his friends showing so much compassion and worry. After they had gotten settled, Daichi told him about what had happened when he had rushed to Hinata’s side and ignored everything else around him.

After Kurae hurt Hinata Daichi had quickly shot Kurae and then stepped forward and disarmed Kuso while cuffing him. Suga had secretly texted Noya telling him to call the police and get an ambulance and some cops to Kageyama’s house, which was why the ambulance had arrived so quickly. After Kageyama had left in the ambulance Daichi took care of speaking to the police and told them he would file his report later after checking on Hinata in the hospital. “It went a lot smoother than I thought since I am a cop myself and knew the guys, and because Kuso and his brother were under the system as wanted since their incident in their childhood.” Daichi said.

Kageyama was relieved to hear how the incident had passed over smoothly, trusting Daichi to handle it, unknowing to the smile Suga had as Suga thought once again at the way Kageyama had grown so much in the past few years.

There was only one bed so Kageyama insisted on sleeping on a futon on the floor while Daichi and Suga slept on the bed, only for it to be refused and him pushed towards the bed.

“I’ll sleep on the floor, you two take the bed.” Daichi said. Kageyama was about to argue when Suga replied first.

“No, I’ll take the futon, you guys need the sleep. I’m used to not getting good rests because of my residency training with the hospitals.”

“Which is all the more reason for you to sleep on the bed. You never get good rest and after what happened you need to get as much rest as possible. I can sleep on the futon and still get rest.”

“What do you mean, every time you have slept on a futon when visiting my families house you complain for the whole day about how your back hurts!”

Kageyama felt as if this fight between couples was never going to end if he let it continue. “I’ll sleep on the futon, you guys can both have the bed.”

“NO!” They both said to him at the same time. Kageyama couldn’t help but chuckle as they finally agreed on Daichi sleeping on the futon, Suga muttering about how stubborn he can be. Kageyama felt his eyes fill with warmth, wandering if this is how him and Hinata were going to be in the future. He could definitely see that with how stubborn Hinata is.

Kageyama got prepared to go to sleep when Suga stopped him, asking if he could talk to him. “Yeah sure, what’s up?”

Suga frowned as he stood there collecting himself, hesitating to say his next words. “I just wanted to say, I guess give you advice, I mean I don’t want to get to much into your business but… you like Hinata right?”

Kageyama felt surprised, but nodded, knowing Suga wouldn’t judge him. “I like him a lot, no, I love him.”

Suga was taken aback from the straight forwardness of Kageyama’s words, not expecting him to admit something like that so easily. “Hinata has been through a lot,” Suga started, “I think he needs a lot of time to recover, even if he himself doesn’t know that. I just wanted to say that it might not be the best to rush your relationship. Hinata needs to learn how to love himself and that he doesn’t need someone in his life to validate him for him to be accepted. Do you understand what I’m getting at?”

“Yes.” Kageyama replied. “I didn’t think about that, but you’re definitely right. I think it will be alright even if we take our relationship slow, I love all the moments I spend with Hinata and I don’t need to label the relationship for that to be different. I’ll help him love himself and heal, and when he is finally healed of the emotional turmoil, he has gone through I’ll ask him if he wants to marry me.”

Suga was smiling to his words, agreeing until he heard the words “I’ll ask him if he wants to marry me” and was surprised. “Marry? Not date?”
Kageyama smiled. “At that point I feel like we will be closer than even those who are engaged, and I feel like maybe he will finally realize how much I care for him if I am open to such a commitment.

Suga was stunned, but quickly showed his warm smile of approval. “I better be one of the first invited to the wedding.”

Authors note: I basically set this where they can legally get married in Japan since currently same sex marriages are not legalized yet.

“That goes for me too”, Daichi pitched in.

Kageyama nodded, affirming that they would indeed be some of the first to receive an invitation and then settled down in the bed. Suga soon joined him and Daichi got comfortable on his futon.

The house soon became quiet, settling down from the evening’s turmoil. Soon he could hear Daichi’s slight snoring and Suga’s calm breaths and could tell they were asleep. He was almost asleep as well when he felt his phone vibrate. He forgot that he still had it in his pocket and took it out, quickly glancing at the caller ID.

His previous drowsiness dissipated immediately when he saw that the call was coming from Hinata. He quickly and quietly got up and walked out of the room and into the bathroom, shutting the door behind him gently while he answered the call.

His excited could be heard as his voice shook out a hello into the call.

“Hey”. It really was Hinata. His voice sounded raw and deeper than usually which made Kageyama worry. Was Hinata even allowed to use his voice right now?

“Did the doctor say it was alright for you to use your voice?” Kageyama quickly asked.

“….”. Kageyama huffed in exasperation and was about to tell him that he shouldn’t speak before Hinata spoke again.

“I just wanted to let you know I was okay, and that I’ll see you in the morning.”

Kageyama couldn’t help but smile warmly to that, his heart fluttering to the words. He felt like Hinata knew he couldn’t sleep somehow, and knew that it was because he was to busy worrying over him, and the fact that every time he closed his eyes the scene of Kurae hurting Hinata would play back in his head.

“I’ll be there early, as soon as you wake up, I’ll be there.” The line was silent, but he felt that Hinata was smiling over the line.

“I’ll get some sleep then, you should as well.” Hinata said after a few moments of silence.

“Alright, I’ll see you in the morning Hinata”

“Good night Tobio.”

Kageyama’s heart skipped a beat as his name was called by Hinata’s rough and hoarse voice, stunning him into silence. He finally recovered himself from how sweetly sexy Hinata had sounded then and managed to stutter out his own good night.

“G-good night Shoyo.”

He left Hinata end the call before going back to the guest room. His heart was still fluttering as he laid down, finally able to rest easily.
