After screaming at Kageyama to run it seemed to shock him into moving. Him and the people behind him that is. Daichi pushed Kageyama to the side as he rushed in, gun to his side ready to take charge, and seemed to freeze when he saw the scene before him. Kageyama walked up beside him visibly shaken as well as a shocked Suga behind him.
“Don’t come any closer,” Kutabare hissed. “I’ll kill him if you do.”
The room seemed to still as Kutabare slowly got up, handing his brother the knife. His brother released his hold on Hinata only to grab the knife and put it up to his throat. “I WILL cut you if you move.” The larger man whispered in his ear. Hinata almost nodded in response before stopping himself and simply staying silent.
“Give the gun to me.” Kutabare told Daichi.
Daichi seemed to hesitate, looking at the gun in his hands. “Suga, leave.” He said over his shoulder. If he gave the gun to Kutabare and he began firing at them and shot Suga… he didn’t know how he would live with himself.
“No, he stays. You all stay.” Kutabare hissed out. He seemed to have himself composed, completely aware of the situation. But Daichi could tell he was visibly shaken. If only he could figure out what to say in this situation to hit his weak spot…
“Kuso,” Hinata said. “I know you don’t want to go to jail- AHH” Hinata let out a cry of pain as the brother behind him brought the knife into the side of his throat enough to draw blood.
“Kurae, let him speak.” Kutabare said, making sure that his brother didn’t go any further. He could tell the men in front of him were pissed, the one with the gun was already clutching it as if he was ready to fire, and the one he knew was Kageyama was visibly shaking with anger. Antagonizing them in this situation was going to get them nowhere. And… he was interested in what Shoyo wanted to tell him as well.
Hinata drew in a shaky breath before continuing. “I know you don’t want to go to jail, but in this situation don’t you think it’s better to than risk either you or your brother getting hurt?” Kuso seemed unaffected by his words.
“I rather die than have my freedom taken away Shoyo.”
“Would you be okay with your brother dying then? At this point he doesn’t have to go to jail to pay for your mistakes.” Kutabare visually flinched at his words. Hinata could tell he was getting to him. He only had to push a little more to get him to agree. “If you stop now, we can all agree to keep his identity as your accomplice a secret.”
Pain erupted on his neck, his vision blurring, he felt himself sliding to the side. The only things he could register was screaming around him… voices shouting, someone crying… oh. He slit my neck…. I’m dying. It hurts, it hurts so so much…
Pain swirled in his mind as he tried to think of something else… to no avail. His mind was going blank, his vision black… and as the darkness enveloped his mind, he felt himself think about the light in his life. Kageyama
If only they could play volleyball one more time.Well, I guess this is the last chapter! I really enjoyed writing this series! I should have probably put a major character death in the tags, but I really like surprises so...
I want to write a chapter about the after math and what happens to Kageyama as he suffers through the loss of Hinata so that will be the next chapter! Thank you for reading!!
