Hey guys! I'm back. I don't really have an excuse... it was really my fault I stopped posting, but I really want to finish this. I don't want this to become one of those stories that goes unfinished. So I'll be finishing the ENTIRE thing today! YAY! I will publish them probably 2 chapters a day, not sure, maybe all at a time, we'll see. Enjoy~
[OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO]

After stopping at a small convenience store and grabbing Hinata two meat buns- which he ate right away- they made their way to a small restaurant and sat down to order.

"Two beers and a curry bowl please." Kageyama asked when the waiter requested their order.

They were ingulfed by an awkward silence until their order arrived. As soon as the beer was set down Hinata found himself taking big gulps and staring off into the space as Kageyama ate his curry bowl.

"So," Hinata finally started, "when the court date gets settled, do you think you would be able to go with me?"

"Yeah of course. If it's on a weekday, I'll take the day off. I won't let you go alone, not with him there."

"Thanks." Hinata said with a smile. The thought of Kageyama staying by his side through it all made his mood skyrocket up, his usual bubbliness returning to his face.

Unlike before when they were engulfed in silence, they spoke about different subjects such as funny stories and their past experiences.

"So, Kageyama." Hinata asked casually. "You had a girlfriend yet."

"No, but I've had a few boyfriends, although it never worked out for long." Kageyama continued.

Hinata almost spit his drink out from shock (and maybe relief). So... he is gay.

"Oh... why didn't they ever last long?" Hinata wanted to tease him instead of going deeper into his personal life, but curiosity took control and Hinata found himself questioning Kageyama's past relationships.

"They were ready to progress in the relationship, like moving in and getting engaged, but I wasn't. So, we would fight and eventually they would leave."

"I guess I'm the opposite. I progress in the relationship to soon."

"You moved in with him when you had been dating for 3 years right?"

"Yeah..."

"Then that wasn't to soon. It's not your fault you didn't realize how Kutabare was. You only knew him for-"

"For 3 years?" Hinata interrupted, his words felt sour as his distaste over himself for not realizing how Kutabare would be to fresh on his mind.

"Some people are good actors Hinata. People change as well. You were honest, kind and understanding in the relationship. You showed him all of your love. It is NOT your fault he didn't return that love."

Hinata was tired. He had been too tired to cry. Too drunk to be depressed. Hinata had felt like nothing mattered anymore. Yet, when he heard those words, he felt the tears coming all over again. He never knew how much he needed those words until now.

"Thank you." Hinata said, his voice breaking as he swiped at his tears and tried to hide the fact that he was starting to cry. When he finally was able to calm down enough to look back at Kageyama he smiled one of his rare genuine smiles. "Thank you Kageyama." Kageyama nodded with a soft smile of his own and offered they leave and paid for the food for both of them despite Hinata's complaints.

The walk home was filled with silence as the chilly night air bit at their uncovered skin. Hinata was relatively fine since he had his oversized hoodie on but Kageyama was shaking as he wished he had brought his jacket.

Hinata could see the shaking and small bumps covering Kageyama's well-muscled arms. Before he could rethink on it Hinata reached out and grabbed Kageyama's cold hand into his own and brought it into his hoodie front pocket. Hinata didn't see Kageyama give any sort of reaction, that was until he felt Kageyama's larger hand intertwine their fingers together inside his hoodie pocket. Hinata grew flustered but squeezed Kageyama's hand back as they enjoyed the walk home in companionable silence, that was until Hinata had a great idea to tease him.

"So Kageyama, you said I could think of this as a date, right?"

Hinata looked at Kageyama as he said this and caught Kageyama's eyes as they grew wide. Hinata was surprised to see the slight blush that covered Kageyama's facial features and found himself growing more and more embarrassed.

Kageyama whipped his head around and muttered a "dumbass" under his breath. Kageyama's embarrassment affected Hinata and he found himself almost as embarrassed as Kageyama. His teasing had really backfired on him.
