Just Kidding!! There's no major character tag... because there isn't one! I would never do that to my baby Hinata! I just wanted to play a little joke ;)

Kageyama had watched in horror as the man he now knew as Kutabare’s brother Kurae brought the knife across Hinata’s throat. He felt everything around him disappear as he zoned in on Hinata, whose body had slid onto the ground and gone dangerously limp. Ignoring everything around him he ran to Hinata, taking his small frail body into his hands.

He watched as droplets landed on Hinata’s face, confusion clouded Kageyama’s mind for a moment until he realized he was crying.

“Hinata. Hinata! Shoyo please. Wake up Shoyo.” His voice broke as he tried to get the limp body in front of him to register his presence. A loud gunshot made him flinch and instinctually bring Hinata closer to him, trying to cover him as best as possible from any threat around him. He felt a hand grip his shoulder and someone yell at him, but he ignored it and remained doubled over Hinata trying to shield him. All he wanted to focus on was the person in his arms-

A stinging pain was felt on his back as he finally looked up at the person who had been trying to get his attention.

“Kageyama!” Suga said sternly. “If you don’t put him down and let me help him, he won’t make it.”

Pain gripped Kageyama’s heart as he listened to Suga, gently putting Hinata on the ground in front of him. He knew Suga was right. He knew he was acting like an idiot, right now what Hinata needed was medical attention, and luckily for them Suga was in his final years of medical school. “Hand me your shirt.” Suga said.

Kageyama did so with no resistance, silently doing as he was told as Suga had him help him wrap it around Hinata’s throat. Suga applied the pressure since he knew what amount of pressure to give. “Talk to him.” Kageyama looked up in confusion at Suga’s words.

“They say that when a person is on the brink of death, they can here the words around them.” He silently whispered into Kageyama’s ear. “So, talk to him.” He said aloud once again.

The thought of Suga whispering the first part so Hinata wouldn’t hear how bad his condition was almost made him smile. But at the thought of Hinata being on the brink of death… Kageyama took in a shaky breath and decided to go for it. If this could help Hinata in anyway he would gladly do it. Gently gripping Hinata’s hand he began to speak.

“Hin-… Shoyo. Your going to be okay. You want to know how I know that? Because since the very first day I saw you, you’ve been brighter than the sun to me. The sun can’t be taken down easily. It can be clouded over, it can set, but in the end it still rises. And I know you will too. And if it were to explode, it would take everything else with it. Shoyo you’re my sun. You can’t leave because I would be left in the darkness without you. I love you Shoyo, I love you.”

He felt a hand lay itself onto his back and glanced up, blinking his tears away as he saw a paramedic beside him. Relief washed over him as he quickly moved out of their way, wishing he could keep his hold around Shoyo but knowing he can’t.

Suga stepped up beside him and gently laid his hand on his arm in comfort.

“One person can go in the ambulance; I think you should go.” Kageyama nodded in agreement and waited for the men to lift Shoyo onto the stretcher and to walk him out.

He took the chance to look and survey the scene around him for the first time.

The man who had cut Hinata was on the ground, blood pooling around him.

Since the paramedics were doing nothing to help him, he assumed they had already announced him dead. Kutabare was cuffed and being led by officers in uniform, and Daichi was talking to one of the officers presumably catching them up on what had happened.

Suga tapped him on the shoulder signaling to him that the paramedics were leaving. He turned to Suga and embraced him, telling him thank you before quickly leaving to follow the paramedics, leaving an incredibly surprised and proud Suga.

‘He really has changed from when he was in high school.’ Suga thought to himself before his mind was again clouded in worry over Hinata’s condition.
