Her meeting with Ward yesterday went south. She wanted to chew him out but she was too weak trying to be too strong. She had told him everything and, for a moment, thought she saw guilt in his eyes.

It was noon and it had been 3 days now. She was barely holding it together, and everyone knew it.

She made her way slowly toward Coulson's office and knocked on the doorframe. He looked up and noticed it was her. He gave her a smile. "Hello, sir." "Hello, Simmons."

She tried to think of what to say next, it was hard to comprehend. She just wanted to be with Fitz. "I-I cannot do this anymore." She blurted out. "Being away from him is tearing me apart and I know only one more day but something could go wrong between this time. And I just need to see him now."

Coulson instantly felt guilty but these were doctors orders. He couldn't disobey them, they knew best. "Simmons, I know that. But I cannot give you permission to go see him. If I could, I would." She sighed. "Please sir, I will make it up to you."

He hated seeing her like this; the girl he knew would have a smile on her face, and no puffy eyes. "I'm so sorry, Jemma." He walked away and she stopped him. "What am I supposed to do?" She asked, with a shaky breath.

"Listen, I cannot let you go today but tomorrow, I will let you go 2 hours early, spend time with him before everyone else. How does that sound?" She smiled, that's all she wanted. She nodded very quickly and hugged him.

"Thank you, sir." She whispered, and he chuckled. "Call me, Coulson."

"Thank you," Simmons said as Skye set the sandwich in front of her. She didn't have the strength to even make herself food anymore, so Skye offered once she noticed nothing going into Simmons.

"This is really good," she said to her and a smile appeared on Skye's face. "Thank you Simmons." She said, sitting down next to her. "I get to see Fitz tomorrow." Jemma said, trying to spark conversation.

A smile arose on both of their faces. "No way! I'm so happy for you. You deserve this," she told her, meaning every word that she said. There was no words to describe how happy they both were. Skye was silently, and regretfully, hoping this would make Simmons normal again.

But, Jemma was just hoping this would take away the heartache inside of her.
