"Who..are you?"
No.
She chuckled and looked at him.
"What do you mean, Fitz? It's me. Jemma."
"I..I have no idea who you are."
She turned around and Coulson had dropped his head.
She ran out of the room and into the lobby.
"No," she whispered.
She held her hands on her forehead, and shook her head.
"He can't, he has to..I."
She felt a hand on her shoulder and turned around.
"Simmons."
She spun around and looked at her visitor.
It was Coulson, but she couldn't manage to say anything.
She stared down the big hallway and glared.
It was time to go tell him.

She approached the door and slid her lanyard with such force she had to re swipe it.
She ran down the stairs and stared at him.
He was exercising and as she watched him, she filled up with hatred.
She grabbed the tablet and instead of releasing the opaque, she released the whole wall.
She knew she was basically giving him a clear exit to freedom, but she knew he wouldn't leave.
She ran into the room and with very little strength, began to punch his chest.
"He doesn't remember! He can't remember, you bastard! He doesn't remember me!"
He was screaming, "Hey. Simmons! What happened?"
She kept hitting him. It wasn't hurting him so he let her.
"You took him away from me! He can't remember me!"
The tears were flowing down her face.
"I. Hate. You!"
She yelled, before leaving and locking up the wall.
"Fitz."
Ward whispered.
~.~
She slammed the basement door and hit it.
"No!" She slightly yelled, making someone notice as she heard footsteps coming.
There was a silence for a moment, and Director Coulson came around the corner.
"Jemma?"
She continued to sob into her sleeve and made whimpering noises.
She stood up and wiped them away.
"Yes, sir?" "Stop. You're hurting, let me help you."
His arms opened and she sobbed before finally hugging him.
"He..he doesn't remember. He never will."
He shook his head and rubbed her hair.
"Don't say that, Simmons. It'll be okay. We'll fix this together."
She sobbed more, remembering Fitz saying this.
"I. Love. Him." She said, each word between sobs.
He shushed her and whispered.
"I know, Jemma."
He kissed the top of her head and let a small tear fall down his cheek.
This would break her.
He knew it.
~.~
She lay in Fitz's bed in his bunk and stared at the wall.
She sniffled, and gathered his blankets around her.
His scent was all over them and she let out a small smile.
It was time for her to face Fitz.
She walked down to his hospital room and entered.
He was surrounded by doctors and she slowly approached him.
Doctor Hicks noticed and ushered all of the doctors to leave, including herself.
Jemma stood looking at him, as he looked at her.
"Hi Fitz."
She said, smiling.
He couldn't keep his eyes off her and he shook his head.
"I'm sorry, you just seem so familiar."
It hurt, really. To not be known by the only person whose ever REALLY accepted you.
"I would hope so. My name is Jemma Simmons, I'm you're.."
She hesitated, not sure what to say as he thought of her as more.
"Best friend," she blurted out.
He nodded and seemed uneasy.
"You can come closer, if..if you want."
She slowly moved closer and sat in her usual chair.
"So, Gemma."
"Jemma," she corrected him.
"Sorry, uhm..how did we meet?"
She chuckled and shook her head.
"Very funny story."
~.~
"So you knocked over all my beakers?"
He laughed as she nodded.
"Yes! I was tired and not looking and bumped into you!"
They both laughed and it died down.
She was still upset, this didn't feel like usual.
"You need some rest."
He nodded and she stood up.
"See you soon."
"So, just best friends?" He asked.
She lowered her head and nodded before silently whispering.
"You're more than that."
